I'm color blind but can see red green and yellow and I passed the dot physical. I told them up front that I was color blind and the place I went to had a traffic light on the wall and asked me to say the colors and pointed to random objects in the room asking me the colors. I can see most all colors it's the different shades I can't see. I lost a job with CSX due to being color blind I was pissed about that because they wouldn't even field test me to prove I could see the colors. They just go by the color vision test book where you gotta tell them what numbers you see out of a bunch of bubbles.

lol back when i was in the army i took that test along with like 50 other guys in a long line so i just repeated the numbers everyone else said. only problem was i got ahead of the tester. he was one of those civilian workers the govt uses and just didnt care and passed me anyways. glad he did or otherwise id have never been able to get into the aviation part of the army.

That's how my little brother managed to not have an eyeglass restriction on his drivers license when he first started driving. Long line of drivers ed students taking the eye test one after another...and he noticed everybody was saying the exact same thing. So, when he got up to the front of the line, he took off his glasses and repeated what everyone else had said.

When he turned 21 and renewed his license, he wasn't so lucky...and he got the restriction on his license.

it's estimate that 15%+ of all males are colorblind (or shade deficient). Supposedly, I have my mother to blame for that... Thanks Mom! :)
