So im gonna be training for my last week next week. As of this past monday I had never been inside of a truck and now i believe im doing pretty good. The few things i need to work on is the timing of my double clutching and my lead foot with the gas. I dont really forsee a problem passing the test but any imput and or helpful hints would be greatly appericiated. Thanx in advance and i am looking foward to joining your industry!
Any words of advice?

Your lead foot is NOT on the "gas." Unless you are driving a very unusual rig, your truck does not run on "gas," it runs on diesel. But I think we get what you were trying to say. So here is a little advice. Kind of general.
1) Don't stress yourself out over your test. The folks who give the tests are used to their applicants not having a lot of experience. Just be on your best game.
2) Obey all traffic laws. (Busting a 15 MPH school zone at 35 while being tested is an automatic failure.) You get the idea.
3) The person giving the test is a human being. And most likely is NOT a jerk. All though, there are always exceptions. Give him/her the benefit of the doubt.
And most important, keep the dirty side down!

The secret to shifting is SOUND. There is no way to just look at the tach and shift correctly. The tach does not give immediate input. Listen to the song that your engine sings. It will tell you when to shift.

for some reason my foot doesnt wanna go down far enough on the clutch when i downshift, but i defiantly see how listening for that humm can make a difference. Thanx!

I mean when im shifting gears. maybe its the truck im training in, cause if its only an inch i need to shift then im seriously doing something wrong and my instructor must be training me wrong too. Ill try doing it that way on Monday.

well...i guess what i meant by that is more like i use the accelerator more than i should in every step of shifting. my school has real trucks...just a bit older than most trucks that are on the road.....at least thats what im guessing. im still trying to figure out this new career choice of mine.
