want to know more about PAM

Pam sounds good I just read they pay for your hotel, breakfast and lunch and give you 300.00 week while in orientation and training.

 

Your driving for 3 years (apparently accident free,judging by your avatar) and your inquiring about PAM? Dude, there are approx, 27,932 companies up the food chain from PAM that would all hire you if your not just blowing smoke.(Which I'm guessing you might be, considering your also asking would it be a good company to train at)

 

If you want to find a good company look locally and see if you can find anything on internet about them. If you cant means drivers are to busy and happy at so called company and you should inquire with so called company.

 

Don't go to PAM unless there is no where else to go. Your dispatcher can make you or break you ( I mean your spirit) I went to work for PAM. After training, got a truck that had just come out of the shop with transmission problems, had about 440,000 miles on it, nasty, no broom to sweep out trailers with, no fuses, etc. When I ask about things I needed, they said buy it at the nearest Wal Mart. 1st load refused because the company said there was no where to put the load. While I was there I found out they had been having that problem a while. 2nd load Trane Company had put the wrong sticker on the load inside trailer, so it was the wrong load. All this time the transmission warning light would come on. PAM told me how to reset the transmission. From Tontitown, Ark to Arlington, Tx. then to Irving, Tx. then to Tyler Tx. then to Harahan, La. I made a little over $300.00. My dispatcher was a jerk. He didn't care if I got home are not and didn't want to here about the problems I was Having with the truck or the loads. He said it wasn't his problem. I told him, they could come and get the truck because I was through.

 

I am signing on with PAM, going through drive solutions. I am entering my forth week at Future Truckers of America. Can't wait to start driving and making a little money. I hear that a dispatcher can make you or break you. But I also know that you have to take the good with the bad. And they will only break you if you let them.

 

That's true, but being new, with loads messed up and a truck just getting out of shop, then transmission warning light comes on and your nowhere near the terminal. Matter of fact your in another state when the warning light comes on and maintenance tells you that if you can't reset the transmission, then you'll have to wait and International will have to come tow it in and fix it. Then the dispatcher tells you that he don't care that your load was messed up , your about of money and hadn't been home in 5 1/2 weeks. Just deliver the load which is another 5 days before getting back home.
