Hey y'all,
Just wanted to thank a few people that threw some good advice my way a few months back, when, I naively threw my hat into this ring that is trucking.
Spat, you saved my ### dude you- you seriously have no idea what you did influenced my future so heavily.
Road- stay strong brother and pound those miles.
To the rest, ill see y'all on the road, especially your pipe smoking ###, buckeye.
Not to sound so mellow dramatic, I'm unbelievably busy driving this cascadia into the ground, so they (FFE) will give me a new frigging truck. And school started so I'm doubly busy.
Eat. Sleep. Drive. Work.
Anyone who says this job is easy, needs a serious wake up call.
Anyone expecting to go to the academy and breeze through because you think driving a truck is easy; go to a truck stop and talk to a driver. Don't pin all your hopes on making it, either. Hedge your bets.
Everyone- drive safe and keep that rubber rolling!

Just finished my second week at FFE. Now im waiting to take my dps road test. The course at FFE was very informational and fast paced. You have to be able to pick up things quick and adjust on the fly. If you are considering FFE, i would highly suggest to start reviewing the TX CDL manual now. If you cant get your cdl permit ina reasonable amount of time, you are no good to the company. The classes are fast paced but you will safety and how to maneuver the trucks. im ready to begin phase 2 so that i can actually get out on the road and learn from a trainer.

Oilfield work is in Texas, and local driving, very likely paid hourly. If you don't live in TX, you will need to relocate. Oilfield is NOT for everyone, and if you are not currently possessing a CDL with tanker endorsement and some degree of offroad driving experience, I'd recommend getting more time under your belt before heading in that direction.

No Jtanner10 I am actually not working in the oil fields. However I posted so that others might consider FFE. I am currently going to DPS tomorrow to get my permit. I started school on monday. I has been a good experience for the most part. Only bad part would be some students acting like children. Other than that everyone is great. Instructors have been awesome.
