Well, the time has come.
I have to choose which pre-hire to accept by the end of next week.
I know these type of questions are asked all the time on this forum but I could really use the advice of people who really know what's going on.
If you guys had to choose between USA and Swift....which would it be and why?
Swift vs USA need advice.

Perhaps you should look in each company's forum for your answers.
See what the drivers of each talk about.
I'm a Swifty (nearly 2 years), and I'm happy here.Dave68 Thanks this. -
Thanks Moose...yeah, I've checked out all the threads and I've read good and bad about both.
What I'm curious about is a head to head match up between the two.
Obviously, I don't expect either to be perfect and I understand that a rookie has to pay his dues
but I'd like to make the best choice with as much good information as I can get. -
I start at swift's academy on monday, woooooooot pick swift.. I will see ya there.

I would say pretty much the flip of a coin between the two companies. Money and equipment are about the same. If you have read the threads on both companies, most of the time it comes down happiness/hatred and the relationship and expertise of the DM.

You live in ohio,
and only have these 2 companies to choose from ?
I would have thought better choices would be available to you.
All things considered,
USA is not far from collapse,
so good luck at Swift !CAXPT Thanks this. -
swift trucks run 65 i think but i know that usa only run 62.THAT is major and will make a difference at the end of a day. swift trucks pass lots of other company trucks and YEAH,it will matter.

All other considerations equal, Swift. Better equipment and a big difference in average miles per driver per week. If you're a runner, you will have all the miles you can legally run. Your terminal and dm make a huge difference. The difference between going to a Swift Academy over C1 is also important; you will be further ahead knowing how to "operate your equipment in a safe and controlled manner" with Swift. The falldown with both companies is the quality, or lack of, the mentor training.
I've been solo with Swift six months. The training was first rate, I drive a 2010 Prostar, I have a great dm and everything promised has been delivered. I'm on pace to gross $41,000 this year.
Finally, if you go with Swift, grow a thick skin. You, your heritage and your driving skills will routinely be insulted for no other reason than the name on your door by cb kitties who have never had an original thought enter their pitiful little minds. That's the part I like best. Remember, all Swift drivers combined turn 5 - 6 MILLION miles a day. How many companies can make tht claim?
