    Is there anyone else here heading to Dallas TX for Stevens this Friday, from the Chicago area? My recruiter told me there would be several of us going, and just wondered if there might be anyone from here...

    are you takin the bus cause the train runs from chicago to dallas and it wasa much nicer and you get reimbursed for it at least i did from stl to dallas and the cost cant be that much different

    Yeah I checked...The Amtrak is only $14 more than the bus, but I can't afford to front the entire 149.00 and then get reimbursed...

    Good Luck Brother. It can be a trying experience at times, being couped up with another man in a rolling closet, but once you hit the solo stage it will all seem worth it. I kept the T2000 that I was in during the dumb and dumber run, and I have to tell you, the truck is twice as big with just me in it!

    Take time to just enjoy the ride and all the beautiful things you will see. Just this morning I got a call from my D&D partner, he had some questions and was going to Oregon for the first time. I told him to enjoy that ride along the Columbia river, one of the most beautiful drives you can make. Take time to savor those things and it will ease the intensity of the training cycle. At least it did for me.

    It's funny you should say that...I suspect that my biggest frustration as a trucker will come from driving down the road, seeing some beautiful scenery, and being unable to snap a picture or ten! :biggrin_25519:

    pass it around that truck stops are not a race track, for some reason stevens is one of the worst parking lot racers i see
