I have found the The Motor Carriers Questions thread to be useful about the pros and cons of various companies in general, but I have some more specific questions. I'm interested in those companies that will provide training. I've read here and there that some companies provide paid training, but deliberately wash out a large proportion of each incoming training class - or otherwise treat the trainees like crap, such as berating them, etc.
Can anyone please give me advice and details about the best and worst companies on this?

Usually the people who say they were deliberately washed out just couldn't hack it and want someone to blame.
I know of no company that has a policy to berate the newbies. That falls on the individual trainers. Yes, there are some bad trainers out there. Yes, companies should do a better job of screening trainers. I suppose they should a better job of screening trainees as well.JimsK Thanks this. -
Many that "wash out" during the training portion probably just couldn't hack it. They might have came in thinking that truck driving is just merely holding a steering wheel and they found out that it's real work. Some might have failed the drug screen or physical.
You have to WANT to do this job/lifestyle and if you go with company paid training, you have to deal with some BS for a while but after that....all clear.JimsK Thanks this.
