I don't care what route they want me to go, I'm after the pennies! I'd go albequerque/Tucson/Vegas to get to SLC if they paid me to.:biggrin_25519:

Just got a backhaul from Layton to pueblo. Same route... This time they are paying me 670 loaded instead of 590. I have a feeling that they knew what they were doing when they said they're pay me 590 miles on a 660 mile load. Cost me a dollar to save themselves a nickel. That's messed up.:biggrin_25511:

Lack of need for being babysitted will come, just dont overspeed over 70, and watch you fuel stops are correct on your logs. It is not the kind of situation with this kind of carrier that can generate a better revenue for you unless you know some dirty secret about your DM and can use it to your advantage.

I know I asked my DM about a difference in miles, got an unload pay notice on Q-com (that I hadn't done)... he was a cool DM.

That's the thing with the huge companies. It may seem like nickels to you, but with thousands of trucks it adds up.

My current load is 494 paid miles, but the actual is 565.

The difference between going interstate's vs. US and state roads.

I'd rather be on the interstate highways, especially if it doesn't take any longer.

When you get loads that just don't seem right or add up then yes I would bring it to your dispatcher's attention. They will sometimes chip you an extra few bucks if the miles seem out of whack. Not quite sure how Swift operates but other companies I have driven for in the past will usually do this.

Just watch out for violations on the "off route" routes.

If you follow company directions and get ticketed for anything... they may pay the fine.

    Swift assumes a 10% difference.
Actually, I think 10% is actually built into the system.
And it never is 10% in the drivers favor, which is why I think it is pre-planned that way.

If you end up going a lot farther, say 20% or more, they will usually split the difference and pay you for that 'extra 10%'.
But you have to call and gripe about it; they won't just do it out of the goodness of their hearts.
