You should be fine, from what I got out of my experience was they will work with ya no matter what. If you are under the 220 threshold it's no problem they just want keep and eye on you to check and make sure your health isn't at risk. If your over that they will recommend you see a doctor and get it under control first and then come back.
Good luck mann!

In Vegas now, got to my delivery with 6 mins to spare
Had 3 and half hours left on my 11, but am whipped out! That is what I hate about these kind of driving at night schedules. At least yesterday I got some shut eye during my early 10 hr break while waiting to unload at albertsons in Salt lake. I normally drive during the day but somehow my schedule got twisted up and the dispatch decided it was going put me in the night shift. I probably was best available for that load.
No prob, put myself off until 6 am tomorrow to get back on day schedule and get some rest!
Trying get home so haven't received any new assignments yet. Sometimes takes a while to get your next load to route you home. aaaaand.... that's why I don't like going home either

Any new or current schnieder drivers that have been thru the dot physical, do they check for blood sugar levels and check your neck size for sleep apnea? if so, do they offer set u up for sleep study and the cpap if needed? Also i want to know from any driver that has got a cpap, how long the dot doc give u on the med card before you go out with a trainer with your cpap, then you come back to the doc to get a year medical card? the reason i ask is so that i can get health insurance with in that time and get other issues taken care of before i go back to the dot doc. I won't get health insurance now because i have a part time job.

Today ran about 250 miles. Got a load going toward my home terminal in Fontana, as requested. Miles not that great but gets me where I need to be. This load is a light 12000 LB has two pick ups and 1 drop down in San Bernardeno Ca. I have get up early and get to next pick up by 8 and then on to deliver. This is a load with boxes from floor to ceiling so probably be a lengthy unload. More than likely they will deadhead me to terminal when done!
Had not seen the use for load locks until today. With boxes (small) floor to ceiling and only a couple straps to hold them back there is probably a mess in back my trailer by now. Was not very pleased with myself but had to do what i could and get rolling. Next time I get chance will have to start buying a few load locks. Even if only use them once in a while. After all we are professionals!
Only about 1600 miles this week so far. Going put truck in shop and get the quallcom and air condition fixed. Need to get some things done around home too..all good! Then head out again for the long haul maybe til Thanksgiving Holiday.. will seenewlife1966 Thanks this. -
@ atrucker,
WOW... Can't thank you enough for your info on Schneider... Started talking to the local recruiter here in STL Tuesday, and will have my Phoner with her Monday afternoon. I have already applied for my TWIC and Passport, and will be taking my "written" CDL Monday morning before I do my Phoner.
If you can't tell, I'm excited about getting back on the road. I was a "spotter" waaay back in the early 90's and did some local work, so it's not too foreign to me, but more concerned about the medical portion as I'm 49, and need to lose a few pounds... Not all fat, or out of shape...
@TenMan
Thanks for your info as well. How long have you been at Schneider, and Why have you stayed? -
Thanks, for all the information. I start training Sept. I also did research and I am looking forward to this expereience. It is nice not having to go into completely blind. Be safe.

passed my D.O.T. Medical Monday afternoon without any mention of CPAP, blood sugar, or neck size......
B.P. 132/84
69"
240#
BMI 35
So, yeah, im a little on the heavy side, but no "real issues"...... -
Thank you very much for this excellent topic.
Very helpful to those of us that are thinking of joining Schneider (or at least to me it was, lol)
Being that I'm still just a wannabe trucker, I can't comment on the physical itself.
But one thing that I do know is that the BMI system is *very* flawed. So I hope they don't use it seriously. It assumes you are an average person with average muscle mass. Muscle weighs more then fat so if you have a lot of muscle you will be much heavier then average. Most NFL players would be considered morbidly obese according to their BMI. lol
As for blood sugar level, it is highest after you eat (especially if you eat stuff with sugar, including fruits)
So don't eat any sweets the day of your physical and don't eat for a few hours before the physical. -
AND.... if you're married. Have your wife use the same answers. She'll be asked about YOU as well, if you fall into the "take this survey" and get money in your "wellness account" or whatever the hell it's called.
Answer the questions wrong. And you will be taking a sleep apnea test. Or finding another job. -
