The MINIMUM on line haul is 2800 per week (To the truck) and you can do that being asleep all week. So don't worry about 5 loads, that's not how they judge your performance. You still want *you're* goal to be about what Terry said, i set mine at about 4k a week, i don't always get it, but 9 times out of 10 they accommodate.

You just have to speak up sometimes, it's a sad, but true part of *any* company. If you can't stick up for yourself, then your toast, it doesn't matter who you're driving for.

It was just a silly joke...no offense intended!! I was always told that if I ever found something perfect, to leave it alone or I'd mess it up. In other words nothing is perfect..so stop trying to find perfection in everything, take some stuff as it is even with it's imperfections.

I've actually been thinking about TMC. I couldn't go to their co sponsored school because I got in some trouble 10 years ago :| But their recruiter told me I could come on after I went to school on my own.

The other skateboard outfit I was looking at was Maverick, but for them, you can't have any major trouble for 15 years. If you don't have any major background issues in your past, you may want to consider Maverick too.

I'm actually off to Swift next week. I have an uncle who's been there for over 12 years. And a cousin who's a trainer with them. So I'll be doing my 6 week training with my cousin. I'll stick it out with Swift for a while and see what happens. If I'm really not liking it, I'll go either to Crete because they pay pretty high even for noobs or TMC because I want to pull skateboards. I like the extra work you do..keeps me from getting too lazy!!

If you can afford to pay for your own schooling, you might want to look into Crete. I don't believe they offer skateboards, but I've heard nothing but good things about them! On this forum and from drivers alike. They offer some of the highest pay in the industry. When I talked to Heather yesterday one of their recruiters, she said they only take students who have graduated from a PTDI school, otherwise you have to have 4-6 mos driving with another co after you went to a school. Or 1 yr otr. She did tell me there was a PTDI school in Lincoln,NE where they are based out of and she said their tuition was less than $1,000. But I'm broke, so off to Swift I go.

I wish you the best with your endeavors Soon2betrucking. See ya out there on that highway!

    WHAT?

Alright, here is the scoop for "soon2betrucking" and all you other rookies out there. As I said previously, don't take my word for it when it comes to TMC, mine is just one opinion. READ ALL ABOUT IT first and then form your opinion. Where doI go to get more info on TMC you ask?

Right here. Don't simply read this comment string about TMC, look at the other strings of comments regarding TMC right here on this site. Search more in other words.

And, for the rest of you commentors that are "experienced", YOU are either a recruitor or a driver for TMC who gets a recruitor to list you as the driver who gets the bonus for recruiting for them. DAH

You can compare TMC to companies Like Swift, Werner and the like. Isn't it true that TMC recently was forced to go paperless logs by the DOT? Why YES it is. Want statistics that are real about TMC??? You can read them right here on this site in other comment strings about TMC.

BAM KO'd ............Now, take the word of so many others on this site that think the same way.

AND MY FINAL WORDS OF WISDOM......For those of us who really are truckers and have the time and miles under our belts, I'll say this, a good trucker looks out for his brother truckers out there whether they are new and green behind the ears or ol timers from the ol school days. Being your brothers keeper means helping your brothers out whether they are on the road or off. And in this case, where people need to make informed decisions that will effect both there personal and famly lives, providing them with some facts and opinons shared by many others is a good wayof paying it forward so that they will do the same some day. I wouldn't want them to make a decision based on lies in other words.

So once again, read the other strings in both this site and others in orderto make your own decision. I wish you luck and hope to meet you on the road some day. Until then, BE SAFE, TAKE YOUR TIME and DRIVE FREE

Hey Pat, re-read all that i said..... you pretty much went from telling all of here how bad of a company they are cause of your own opinion, to, this is just my opinion, make up your mind Al Gore, which one is it? is it all the
"fact's" you listed or just an " opinion"
and about one trucker helping out a nother trucker, your 150% right, thats one of the best things about this site... read it all Pat, its all the Vets helping out the green horns, its one of the best tools that my teacher in school forgot to tell me about..... Im the one that told you and whom ever els to read this forum looking for the bad... YES YOU CAN FIND MORE THEN JUST THIS TREAD, just not nearly as much as all the other companies such as swift, schnider, jevic, werner.... and the paper logs..acording to the recruit that was there 2day, 11/21/07 they are not going paprt less cause there are too many glicthes in thesystems still., thats what the told us today.... again, every company has the good, the bad, and even the ugly, just seems like your the only one that happend to find the bad and the ugly with them, and im not saying your the only one that has, you just the only one that has come forword so far, and i must say, based on 4 pages, it seems like the company is pretty good, except for your attemp with working for them.
again, best of luck to you with the whole o/o deal, i look up to those people
take care now Pat, enjoy your thanksgiving

Hey Av8 i got the joke, i was trhowing one back at ya, same thing my dad always told me, but i was saying is if there were to be a good company everyone would know about them, and it would be hard to get in, and when the firls person gets fired, or has a bad experience with them, such as Pat with TMC, the company is no longer the perfect company, cause the Pat like people are here to prove that the bad and ugly really do exsist
best of luck at swift.... keep us posted on how you make out

    :roll::roll:

That is the most rediculous statement I think I've ever read on this forum. I WAS a TMC driver (well, a driver trainee), but had to leave due to things at home, yet I STILL recommend TMC to newbies who want to WORK. Will TMC give me money for recruiting people on this forum?

    Unfreakinbelievable.........

Firstly, you're telling others to read and form their own opinion, which is fine... But take your own advice.

There was a thread in the "Bad trucking forum" where i openly stated that i was a DRIVER for TMC, and that i am NO LONGER EMPLOYED WITH THEM. I also openly stated that i DID NOT ASK ANYONE TO PUT ANYTHING ON THEIR APPLICATION.

I've spoke with forum members ON THE PHONE to ease their fears, or concerns about going to TMC, disclosing the good AND THE BAD.

I'm here because i was once excited about driving for TMC, And was almost turned down by this crap.. And I'm Glad that i didn't listen to all this bogus junk on here from the complaining kids who went into orientation / this career with unrealistic expectations. Don't tell me what I am. You don't have a clue.
