Potter Transport of Booneville Missouri is about the worst job for a trucker to have. The owner, Randy Potter will screw you out of every bit of money and hometime that you earn. I was promised 2 days off every 2 weeks.... but was out for 28 days straight with one day off afterwards. He reels his drivers in by haveing an all peterbilt fleet and 80MPH trucks, but they are junk. I broke down 10 times in the 5 weeks that I worked there. When I did finally quit and bring his truck back, he was attempting to start a fight with me and has yet to pay me the final 2 paychecks. He will run you over 4000miles a week but will not pay you. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS MAN. :biggrin_25513:

Make sure u have all documentation of the loads you ran & take it the labor officials in missouri. He has to by law pay you for work performed. Besides I've heard horror stories about that company before. Csa will put him out in the near future.

Can you say OUTLAW? Look at his equipment and the types of drivers he has. CSA 2010 should do a number on this guy but he will probably slip threw the cracks some how. Seen one of his drivers in OKC awhile back and he had a prostitute and a known drug dealer in his truck. He has a a bad reputation for years, Just Bad News!

Thank you for the information. I am 22yrs old. I was born and raised in this industry and have most of my experience in the Military. I have been out of the army since October and driving out here. I knew he was screwing me over but I was not not sure how I could stop it. Again, Thanks.

Hopefully you are making a copy of EVERY piece of paper that goes through your fingers!

Starting with the BOL, scale ticket, fuel receipts, cash advances, tolls, oil, light bulbs or any thing that you pull money out of your pocket to pay for on the truck. If it has money attached to it make a copy! You will be surprised how many thieves there are in offices that will flat out lie to you and tell you that your trip pak didn't come in ( That's BS as I have NEVER had a TP not make it in with an honest company that I was with for 9 years! 2 others had all kinds of problems so read on!) I've had BOPL's and other receipts just committ suicide by squeezing out of the envelope while in the bag! I've been told that the trip[ pak never came in BUT for some weird reason my logs that were in the same envelope magically appeared in the computers! High dollar receipts gone but the scale tick made it in!

If you do not go through your statement each week or payday and do a line idem check you will be screwed and from the posts sao far with this guy I'd be playing santa Clause and checking it twice!

When you find a discrepancy print out a copy of whatever the geniuses are trying to screw you out of and send it to them OR Email it to them!

you write down start and end odometer readings and put them in a spiral bound book starting with day one. You put trip numbers and pick up numbers in thise book at the top then odo the name and address of P'u and del times and every thing needed to show what you did.

You also put some information on the BOL such as that trip number. Make sure that the signature you use is plain or matches with the job application!

But you keep all these copies until you quit driving for him and then longer.
I prefer to use my laptop and scanner and scan everything into a file folder filled with each load aI haul. Each load should be filed as date or trip number but date is better as it matches to your log for easier location. Scan each piece as you put it into the envelope that you use to send in to the yard such as trip Pak or FedX or whatever you use. Scan it nd put it directly into the envelope so it doesn't get lost.

When pay time comes you can go through your files and see if you got repaid for all your receipts and if you got paid properly on the dispatch.

If you use Qcomm you have your dispatch. If you so feel the need take a picture of the screen and copy it to your file of the load. If not and you get your info by phone then tape the call. YEAH YEAH YEAH some states say it's against the law. Do what you feel you need to do. Tell them you are taping it for accuracy. But when given on the phone there is always the he said I said arguments about who was correct. You can copy the wav file to your file!

If you think you are being screwed on mileage pay then buy a TRUCK routing program! They ARE expensive from the company but they are better than some free internet or GPS non trucking routing program.

It's always good business to cover your arse with some of the pathetic lowlives calling themselves trucking companies! And that isn't just talking about small ones but even some of the "megas" pull this crapola too!

As the old saying goes "a computer file is worth a thousand dollars!" LOL

C'mon guys! Tell the truth! Small wiener, big hood? Go fast, fast go?

I'm just trying to put together a puzzle here. It's been eating at me for awhile. I like an aerodine hood that I can see over. Some guys don't want to see over the hood for whatever reason.

So, the companies that offer the hood and no govern are attracting those that, um, have manly issues?

Just wondering! No offense! But please tell me the truth! I can take it!

Thanks for the Inf Rollover. I quit right before I posted this about them. I now work for Chastain Trucking hauling Boats and doing stepdeck work. Small Company, only 23 Trucks. Family owned and operated and I like them so far. I did keep all my records though. I recorded all miles, BOL's Scales, ETC ETC. His day in court will come. Its not the money I am worried about, just the fact that He thinks I am too stupid to stop him.. SO he will learn the hard way I guess. Thank you for the Info, I will keep all of that in mind and continue to do it where ever I work.

As for the comment of the truk style, I am a hot rod guy, I like the classics in both cars and Semi's. I like the long nose Petes and KW's. And I was brought up and tought on a 379 Pete with 6ft frame extension.... I think it paid off because I havnt had a problem driving or backing anything so far. It is just what ya like I guess.

I drove for randy. I thought I was doing the right thing by letting him know two of his drivers were selling dope out of his trucks. One week later(dec.9,2009) he had me take a random. On jan.10,2010 he fired me saying I failed the random. I contacted dac to have bogus stuff taken off my record. They said no, that HIS doctor had proof I failed. Now I dont have money to hire a lawyer or take the SAP class. Cant get a driving job anywhere now. Randy potter screwed up my career.
