My old man ran for George Transfer for years and said he loved running for them. I guess I would choose them just so I could have run for them now that I run steel.

Another is Eastern Livestock. I know some people feel otherwise, but I always got my money on his loads and they ran us well and paid well.

Anyone got companies they are glad they went under? Mine is Cold River Cattle Co. in Bryan, Tx. Bunch of theiving beep* beep* beep* people.

Anyone remember when Kimberly-Clark had their own trucks? My dad worked for them until they contracted it out to Schneider. I remember as a kid going to the company picnics and truck rodeos. From what I've heard, they really took care of their drivers.

Joe S Bowen, Springdale Ar, Tom and Jerry Inman OK, David Beaux, Ar. LowellCawood, Springdale Ar. and A&W, Siloam Springs, Ok. All great chicken, produce and meat haulers. Those were the days. Big cats and all the miles you could handle. :biggrin_2551:

I drove for them from 1985 until 1991. Worked out of Paramus, Nj, then transferred to Fontana, California. It was a great company to work for back in the eighties. The cheap freight companies helped put Carretta out of business.

Hello 001k, I use to drive for Joe from 76 till 86 and enjoyed every minute. Joe would turn his kitty-kats up to 500hp so everbody was happy to pull those overloads. Never pulled a legal load. Those companys would always take great care of the drivers. Joe's sister lives in las vegas and called the day he passed. Sure do miss a real great friend. He use to come to vegas for a visit and bring his girlfriends for a couple days of partying. Then go back to Springdale and then to Mexico. Have a great day and thanks for the post.

Seajay Services, they were reefer and went belly up when their insurance went up.While waiting to get unloaded in Arkansas,I call my boss and ask him for the next load info.He said im done.I thought why are you fireing me.Then he said he has to close because they can't afford the insurance. So I deadheaded from Little Rock to Lemars,Iowa.I was upset because I really liked this company. You just never know and why its wise to save so much out of your check every week untill the unemployment benefits kick in.
