I get my truck ( 2005 peterbilt ) and trailer ( 2007 manac flatbed all aluminum ) through first guard insurance. Everything including my apu is covered with a $1,000 deductible for $113.00 a month. Does not include bobtail ......
The value of the truck is insured at $29,000 and my trailer is insured for $25,000. I'm paying $113.00 for both truck and trailer. Like I mentioned , does not include bobtail. Awesome insurance with a very low cost.

The Unladen Insurance must be from Galagher (sp??) through Landstar, but you can buy the Physical Damage anywhere. We went with TrueNorth Insurance - TSA, which is the one we used to have before, they also cover everything and charge 3% of the value of the truck, you may also add the Gap Insurance if you're still paying for your truck. Talk to Austin, very nice guy:

Some of posted your gross at ls. And put about 100k for the year. That's disturbingly low to me. Is it because you profit enough so you work less? Or is that the best you can do?
I flatbed for swift on elogs. Year to date Jan thru end of Aug I'm at 150932. My target gross is 226 as of right now.
I met a flatbedder at ls with one leg and he grossed 235k so im confused and scared to switch to ls. I just bought a second truck and applied at LS before I read these forums. Uhg -
BTW, unlike Swift, we are not on mileage pay. What a person grosses does not matter. The figure that counts is the net.HwyPrsnr Thanks this. -
I had asked questions earlier about becoming a BCO... since then have applied, application approved and been in the process of the paperwork chase etc. I am planning on having my truck inspected by the Landstar inspection company this Tuesday. I will have it inspected by my mechanic first just to make sure I am not missing anything. Is there any heads up I need to give him for this inspection other than just a DOT?
I don't want to have any problems if I can help it as so far things have flowed really well with the Landstar application processThe 16th will be my last day driving for the company I am leased to now, and I am hoping to have everything in order to go to Landstar orientation the 18th or 19th in Grand Prairie Tx.

A LS inspection is the same criteria as the normal DOT annual inspection criteria.
You are aware that LS requires all new contractors to install an EOBR?Quietbreeze and HwyPrsnr Thank this.
