they will soon need 8bag solution for 6x4/8x4 trucks 4bags dont have big axle walk
although this give better ground clearance -
Just found this on scanias website, it's referring to busses but if they start selling busses there trucks will soon follow, "The discussions will allow Scania to determine the feasibility of working with MCI to create new opportunities through expanded product offerings that may enter the North American market in the coming years."

i just saw scania present 1000hp v8 marine engine of course this is not suitable for trucks , i also saw that latest industrial engine is 770hp , they are always rated lower than truck engines(for now marine was 900hp industrial 700) , in trucks 730 is still top so this means we can expect something stronger very soon

I really cant imagine an 800hp engine in a standard truck at normal weights.
Look , I'm sure I would get used to it but I think it could be dangerous in the wrong hands.
At the top we only get 620 Scania,s , 650 hp Freightliners , 680hp MAN and 700 hp Volvo's but 90% of over 600hp trucks here are used on Heavy Haulage. -
The Irish love big hp motors, livestock hauliers will always have top-of-the-range trucks, most are 620's or now 730's. 500's, 560's, 580's or 620's are generally used for reefers and 500's - 540's for general haulage. 480's and 440's for big fleets but I haven't seen a tractor below 440 here in many years, any o/o or small fleet will have at least a 500 nowdays!
A couple of typical Irish trucks,

this r730 is from Japan , probably first there it is very interesting since it is all wheel drive ( scania usually dont offer it above 440hp except for defence/military applications)
it is rated for 431.5t or 950 000lbs
cant find much about it since there is language barrier but it is very interesting vehicle
Cat sdp and Scania man Thank this. -
No one gets why they do that. -
how fast are they traveling?
is it because of topography? how hard is terrain ?
or because of speed?
