Cost difference between a header on trailer and headache rack

A header and side boxes on trailer I think would work out fine for me

I just sold my headache rack to my buddy with a 379 ...condenser mounted on back wall the mounted the rack a little further up and he slid his fifth wheel to make sharp tuns...he scales fine and it works great....(I hate headers)

Headache over headboard any day. I had headboard and made tarpping some loads a pain and had to turn down some loads.

We have some guys with RGN's, but to be honest I would not have one on here. Not enough freight for them in my opinion. You can do very well with a step here, I just bought a new one a couple of months ago. I did not go with a low profile one, but a 40" deck height. It would not be worth the extra cost in purchase price or maintainence on brakes and tires to get one lower.

    horsecrazychic22 and Markvfl Thank this.

Exactly, and we have several customers that won't load a trailer with a headboard.

I always have loads booked in advance. They are mine and I am dispatched on them. With that being said I don't always get the loads that I wanted. Like skateboardman said, you can match yourself to a load or your coordinator can, if there is anybody ahead of you for that load they will be contacted, if they turn the load down it is yours. If they can not be contacted there is a time limit and they are automatically passed up. It is a good system, the farther out you are willing to look the easier it is to get the freight you want.

We have a customer that won't load if you don't have one of these. Funny thing is it is installation. Not a big safety concern of that crashing through and killing the driver.

    horsecrazychic22 Thanks this.
