They pay additional CPM on a scale to do the short loads. Someone has posted somewhere on here what the extra is and what amount kicks in at what distance.

Ya they just started Mileage Bonus based on rank every 3 months they take they miles you drive unless your on a dedicated account which u lose your rank.
Diamond= $.06
Platnuim= $.03
Gold = $.02
Bronz= $.01
X the miles you drive from July to Sept 1st bonus is due Oct 2
then Oct to Dec for the next Bonus
Kind of unfair how if u ask me how can some drivers be Gold then some Bronz if they aren't getting the miles and drivers on dedicated account recieve no Bonus it's not fair really all drivers should recieve bonus if there driving. -
Yeah that's the new one. The old one has been around for a while, the one that they add cpm to shorter loads. For instance, a driver with a base rate of 38 cpm will be paid 42 cpm for taking a shorter load. I don't remember how it's broken down since I haven't been eligible for it due to being a regional driver for so long. Now I am not eligible for any program unless it includes shuttle drivers.

The bad side is we are not ranked and therefore not eligible for the bonus plan. Very rarely we don't run due to weather on either end or slow freight.
There have been times I bobtailed the 240 miles, or took an empty trailer because there was freight coming our way or vice versa.gimmpy and scottied67 Thank this. -

I have nothing bad to say about swift,if your wanting to drive for them they have a real good academy to get you started out right,miles have been good,just learn how to preplan and manage your hours right,don't turn down a bunch of loads,plus if you go to Canada,have a hazmat and a twic card there is never a shortage of loads

Been in my truck for 18 months now, and never a breakddown, but then it is mine and I let the KW dealer take care of it as far as work. The first year can be hard, but it is what you make it. As far as the mentors, not one, will not be one, but I know some. I have met some real jerks, and met some good ones that actually care about the student and make sure that they learn.
Acutally, Swift does mostly run some good equipment. There are some real long in the tooth trucks out there, but they are going.RoadDriver -Andre Thanks this.
