Check out the cooking jn the cab thread. I buy about 1 meal out a week other than that I make it myself. Have 12v cooler for a fridge and a microwave, small Foreman grill, lunch box oven, hell I e en have a toaster in here, not.much I can't cook.

I spend around $40 - $50 a week on groceries, could probably cut that down a little but I eat pretty well.

I also suggest a smoothie maker....... Easily get free ice from certain truck stops and keeping fruit and buying salads, even a rice cooker, a george foreman grill if you plan to grill or eat meats, and I say stopping at a walmart to restart your 70 if possible, to shop once a week, with a list in hand.....:yes2557: do not go without a list...lololol......:biggrin_25520:

I kept my cheese intake down and ate foods that would give me energy like fruits and veggies while driving, lot's of water did this from may to july and lost over 14 pounds. But yes it is definitely possible to live healthy on the road, have to be disciplined though.....

    Peace

Stay away from the T/S resturants and and eat sensibly in the truck and you will be much better off healthwise and financially.... And get out and walk around so you don't die of a heart attack and it's 3 days before anyone notices !

    SHC Thanks this.

I know many can't handle it, but I eat subway everyday. Spend $10 a day on it, and my coffee in the morning. As long as you stick to the heallthier things on their menu (not steak, cheese, meatball, ect ect) you can do alright. I have a bacon egg n cheese flatbread for breakfast and a foot long turkey for lunch/dinner.

the MAIN key to keeping healthy on the road is WATER. Don't drink soda or gatorade as all that sugar just sits in your stomach. I quit drinking soda and lost 35# in 3 weeks !!!!

I'd say it more depends on how hard you run.

A 10 hour break does not really leave time to prepare and cook and eat a meal if you want to get enough sleep.
Bear in mind, everything takes longer doing it out of a truck.
A baked potato in a lunchbox cooker is great, but it takes 2-2.5 hours to bake it.

If you need to do laundry or shower, well, those things take time as well.
