Got my "newer" 2012 truck today. It's orange and has 88k miles on it, but still has some of that new car scent to it. No On Guard, has the berth door, a fancy bunk heater and a few slight, and much needed changes from my ol' black 2008 Cascadia, Shaniqua. After much thought, my new girl's name is "George Hamilton".

She shifts so much nicer than Shaniqua did. I'm not a fan of the RPM maxing out so low though, but I suppose if I dislike that, it probably means I'm over RPMing too much anyway. The engine break works much better, the engine is quieter, and did I mention it shifts much nicer? Shaniqua was screwy in the 5th and 6th gear area, George Hamilton shifts in those gears like a boss.

I was pretty pissed when I got her, because I thought the battery was completely dead. Then I remembered the switch under the driver's seat. That's another thing that I didn't have on my 2008. Heh, she started right up after turned on the battery.

Anyhow, I got the truck just up the road from my home, so I have my TAH to clean the truck and load up my way-to-many things into it.

Does your new truck have some sort of fake spray on tan going on or something?

The only kind of "city" driving you probably should look forward to is driving through some tighter areas in the Walmart store parking lots, but that's all slow maneuvering. Don't worry too much.

I ran a route out of Wintersville over labor day weekend. Talked with the DBLs and a few of the drivers while I was there since I hadn't done a Walmart route before. They were all really cool and nice. Gave me plenty of advice and tips about the run I was assigned.

I'm sure it will be a nice place to work out of. Even the guards at the gate were nice and friendly. Much better than some other places where some guards seem to think the plastic nametag/badge makes them a special snowflake.

My piece of advice for the place is to take US 250/22 in/out. The Qualcomm routed me on OH 43 coming in. while it was slightly shorter distance wise, is was about an hour longer. I could smell my brakes roasting by the time I got there. That was with me riding the Jake through every little town along the way. Several times where I had to use both lanes going around blind corners.

I don't remember who I talked to while I was there. I came in around 2200 and didn't leave until after midnight. The guys there at that time were sink really helpful. As much add I hate multi stop runs like that, it paid pretty well. I'd gladly go back and do it again if they ever needed me there. Even the people at the individual stores were cool and helpful once I let them know I had no clue what was supposed to happen.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it there. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
