Fired/quit from training and now

Not sure about Averitt, but if I was an employer I would be skiddish about hiring him
It doesn't matter if you have been driving 40 years or 40 days, you are gonna make mistakes,. If he can't handle that, then he may be in the wrong profession. All I can say is try and see what they say. And don't let mistakes get to him. Learn from them and move on. Best of luck to him.

 

Sorry Speedman.... That NOT quitting ...he must of WOKE his trainer up out of the sleeper...the guy deserves a learning curve...He better check his Dac report and make sure the company doesn't screw him over...just call Avvertt and explain what happened in advance so there is no surprises when he goes to orientation / training

 

Averitt seems to be advertising alot lately for drivers on one of their 'Discount' store dedicated accounts. It's not the worst gig out there, but does have a considerable amount of labor involved. It pays a decent week's wages and may be a good deal for your fiance. His 'incident' while road testing should'nt affect his chances of getting hired. It was an honest mistake and as long as he's up front about it, he'll do better next time. I see it as the previous company's loss and his next company's gain! Lots of luck to both of you.

 

if he is still in training...mistakes are gonna happen...he shouldnt have been fired over this....however if he quit over it...he might wanna consider doing something else other than driving a truck. i have driven a long time..and we all still have our "off days"...there isnt one person on here that can HONESTLY say, they dont miss a gear now and then...

Hell, I still occasionally grind gears and even stalled it last week at a light. It happens... That's why your in training. To learn And be taught.

 

if it shows he quit...i wouldnt volunteer anything else...
