the speed limit is just that the LIMIT. Our trucks do 70-80mph i only go whatever the sign says, speeding isnt worth the ticket/points/fine. A few tickets and you'll find yourself in the Unemployment line instead of the shower line at the pilot....

my governor is my right foot. If I don't want it to go over the speed limit, I don't push it down so far. What's so hard to comprehend about that?

I wouldn't say he's that far off the mark. People fly on 75, especially coming off of I-10 down toward Gainesville. Then we have the Alligator Alley portion where the speed limit is often whatever the driver decides. -
Some states allow you to go only 5mph over the posted speed limit like in Florida. My truck is governed at 74 but im not looking for a ticket so I dont drive at 74. I average 65-70mph on the interstate roads. Through city highways, 50mph. 59 or 60 shouldnt hurt in a 55.

MN allows you to go 10 mph over the speed limit on rural highways only while passing.

I always just set the CC at the speed limit and cruise along. I always get there on time anyway. My goal is to protect my license, and to keep it under control. I have very bad luck with cops, so I don't push it.

Waldo Willy is notoriously infamous among truckers traveling 301. He will pop you for going 1 mph over and often less. I beat a ticket there years ago. Was coming back from up north in my personal vehicle at Christmas, Late at night, van full with presents, the wife, myself, the two kids and the dog. He pulled me over for going 45 in the 45. I asked what he pulled me over for and he said I was going too fast for conditions. I asked what conditions he was referring. Get this. He said, "You're loaded down." But he didn't put my speed on the ticket. He left that area blank. They count on most folks just passing through on vacation and count on it's easier to just mail the fine in. He didn't show in court and they tossed it, which is what I believe they would have done anyway even if he did show.
Go to speedtrap dot org and put in Waldo, Fl. Last I checked there were pages and pages of posts. Several newspapers in the state did articles on how the place is a revenue generator for the town. The speed goes from 55 to 45 to 35 in less than a quarter mile and you better make that slowdown. Waldo is one of only two places designated by AAA as an official speed trap and shakedown town. Google Waldo speed trap. You'll probably get thousands of returns.jet460 Thanks this. -
