The pay isn't the best, but it is leaps and bounds above my Knight Refrigerated checks. The per diem sucks, but I can deal until I have enough exp to get into something more lucrative.
I'm hoping Marten makes more progress in the area of getting more $ to the driver and not just to the Marten's motorcycle funds!

SO... I hit the inspection lane in indy yesterday. This is what happens at one. You put all of your lights on, including your hazards/flashers. You submit your APU hours and your odometer reading according to your qualcomm. I had my APU hours, real odometer and fake qualcomm odometer readings written down. I waited in line for 90 minutes before my inspection began.
When I've done this in Mondovi, they ASK you for your readings. THIS guy here just pushes me aside, because I told him I just got all my hours and miles written down. He insists upon getting into my bunk to get the APU hours. In the process, he got #### all over the inside of my truck. I laid down carpeting (I always take my shoes off in my driver seat before going to the back) and he just flipped it all over the place and stomped around and sat down on my bed! WHAT THE HELL, MAN??? They're not supposed to do that.
I worked my ### off to clean this truck out from the last dirty pig that was in here. This power hungry noob had to show me how much of a prick he could be and just go on in there and wreck all my hard work. On top of that, a lease op was idling in the next lane and inspection guy left my door hanging open, so all of my clothes and even my groceries stink of diesel fuel fumes now!
This is where I draw the line. Forced per diem... I could kinda let that go... The first few defective trucks... but I'm not tolerating some jerk in a greasy/oily jumpsuit getting his greasy oily boots and clothing all over inside where I RESIDE! -
That sucks man. Did he even ask, or did he just climb on in?

Doesn't seem too serious. This is the truck where you said had crap and pee all over it. The man was doing his job. Get over it. You work at Marten and this is all you can complain about. Consider yourself blessed.

You should've told him, "No Lot Lizards allowed in your truck." If he would've said he's not lot lizard. Firmly reply, "Your wife & mother aren't up here either!"

You know that Mortal Kombat song that came out in the early 90s? Techno Syndrome is the title. You know how the guy yells "MORTAL KOMBAT". Replace that with CAPTAIN LONGNUUUUTS! and you have the title of the video...

Obviously the people who make these kind of company policies just assume that you are the standard tub of poo unwashed petri dish of scabs and skin disease that many truck drivers allow themselves to become.
Ask your DM how he would feel if that dirty mechanic came to his home and sat on his bed wearing those clothes.
I am currently driving a truck with 130,000 miles on it and everyone who gets in it assumes I just picked it up at the dealership a few days ago. Why? Because I clean it everyday like a home.
