How's that gonna pay next year, or the year after that? How far is that dock job taking you? The paycheck isn't the only thing to consider.

Is the cdl school training in Fontana prepare a person well for driving? I hear its only 2 weeks long? I am seriously looking at central, but I'm just trying to be sure I will be trained well.

After 5 weeks you will upgrade to your own truck, Then depending on how long you stay in this life style your training never ends.
Something new everyday. -

Fixed Cost go beyond that.
A/B services $200.00 to $300.00 every 15,000 to 30,000 miles front Whindshields $150.00 and up wiper blades cleaning supply's for the truck TAXES every qt tires blow a steer bye a steer $350.00 drives are cheaper deductible hit a deer to pay that it happens truck wash $50.00 and up gotta keep the crap they put on the roads for ice off your truck or it will eat tru the wires keeping your rims clean $120.00 feeding yourself minamum $25.00 per day scale a load $9.00 up tools not covered by the per pass no per pass dose not work every where cb radio bedding supply's laundry $4.00 a load going home it's fuel equals money out of your pocket. I could go on with this but I'll leave the rest up to someone else. Everything you bye or spend money on is a fixed cost yes most things are tax deductible but still it's money not going home or into your pocket. Remember if you turn the truck in before the lease is up and it needs tires detailing breaks a new Whindshield a service and payments not made until the truck is released Central can and will charge you. All fixed costs. -
6pak, most of the costs you mentioned are not fixed costs but variable costs, i.e. they very based on the miles and conditions your drive in. They are all expenses, but mumbles specifically asked about fixed cost.

Heres a math quiz for you. My empty weight is 33600 (at about 5/8 fuel). My load is 40738. So my gross is what? 79840. Do they even weigh what they put on the trucks? 90 minutes, $14 in scale fees, and maybe, possibly, some fuel burn calculations to the next scale house later, I was on my way.I almost always go to the nearest scale when I'm over 30k in the box, but the one time i don't the bills are way off.
-
i picked up a load the other day that the BOL said the load was at 40000 so i go get a cat scale and total gross is at 45,000. WTF!!!
-
I'll trade you. I can only get 33660 on the tandems without going over, so I'm running light fuel to the 99.
