As you say that I should take a stand of "for" or "against" TQL....Well; I can't I have never dealt with them. Now I will say that they have called on some my freight before. The ol' I have a truck didnt work for me! They wouldnt give me the drivers cell or contact info. So no load for them. Now; your comment about them being a 20 yr old car salesman.....Yeah pretty much!

Back to your take a stand statement...You can find atleast 5 people on TTR that say good about TQL, along with another 5 that say bad about TQL.

I'm sure the odds are more like 2:5 in favor vs. against.

I just called on a couple TQL loads posted for leaving friday. One from Toronto, ON to Denver, CO. It is about 1550 miles. The agent calls and tells me, it is 1400 miles and they are paying $1700. I told him I was expecting no less than $3400. (full load - reefer) He says he doesn't have that much into it so I said sorry I can't haul it then, goodbye. At about 4pm he calls me back and asks if I still am available to haul it. By this time I have committed to a good load to the east. Sorry not available man. "I can pay you 3400." Shoulda done that earlier.

Kinda feel like if we ALL banded together and did commit to TQLs crappy paying loads, then just simply not pick them up, they would know how it feels. Tell them we found a better paying load and can't do this one. How crappy does service to customers get by them using the cheapest truck before the customer fires them and finds a quality brokerage and pays accordingly? The only thing I can't bring myself to do this is the reason behind it - I will not sink to their level.

They give us all a bad name. You wouldn't believe the number of people I talk to who are against brokers because of crap TQL pulled on them.

TQL operates like a "Fly by Night" ...operation...most of the time, not always....
    ...in my opinion...
........I won't deal with them ever again.......

Not too long ago same thing happened to me . I had a truck in IN, and called on a load going down to GA. The load itself had about 750 miles so I called them and told them I expected at the very least $1700 in order for my guy to move the load. He said he only had $900 so I told him I couldn't help him, hanged up on him. About two hours later he calls me and tells me he can match my offer, $1700...but by now I already had a load paying pretty good going to the same place (GA). I told him I couldn't help him, he said he REALLY needed me and wanted to pay $2000.

I ended up not taking his load as once I commit to a load I just don't cancel even If I get a better rate. I really don't understand why TQL does business this way. I guess If we ALL stopped taking cheap freight from them, eventually rates would INCREASE.

Nah, I'd offer 'em a cheap rate like they offer all of those who drive for a living and then they'd get their feelings hurt.

At LW Miller we used CH Robertson to get a few loads never really had a issue with them.
