I'm pretty sure if you have your medical records of the med's and why they had been given to you it won't be a problem......Be sure you list ALL!!!!! Med's that you have taken on your before you do the test, because if they find anything you forgot to list, they may see that as your being honest or upfrontm Remember first impressions........are lasting.

I'm making a move down to San Antonio, and see that there's openings for Texas regional van drivers. I'm going to apply to Roehl to get my CDL thru their school. Wondering what the average home time is, and how many miles beginning drivers can expect.

Hope someone will take the time to respond. I will be attending truck driving school next week and Rohel amomg other compines recurit new drivers out of there. One of the things that I need clarafication on is how does Rohel, as well as other trucking companies, furnish driver directions. Is by map? Do trucks have GPS? I'm just wondering how drivers accomplish getting from point A to point B I apologize if this is an elementry or annoying question but a fellow has to start somewhere

I don't drive for Roehl but most companies send directions over the qualcomm along with your fuel solution. You check these on your atlas and if you have a gps you can verify it there as well. Just make sure if you choose to use a gps you verify it with your atlas to avoid restricted roads, possible low bridges, stuff like that.

Also if you want a gps most of the time you provide your own.

With Roehl they send you directions via your Qualcom (electronic driver log and message board) You then have to plot this on your Atlas and make sure it is a safe and correct route. (no low bridges or restricted roads) a dry earse marker works well writing the directions down on the window at first (but don't get caught). No route is ever perfect as you will find when they close all interstates through nashville TN on a weekend and you flounder around or out in the country and the road you are to take is closed do to construction. Yes I have called and raised hell with the routing dept...just needed to vent. A car GPS helps but can get you in trouble also with wrong roads. I have a trucker GPS that works well.

Its ok you will I'm sure everyone has at one point in time in their career. Sometimes you miss turns or the directions aren't exactly correct. Bu after a while you know what to expect and know that this and that road suck or don't run into each other etc

Thanks for your time and encourgment. Just curious who do you drive for? I live in the Cocoa Beach area and it would be nice to develop a dialoge with other Florida Truckers. So far this Website has been a tremendous source of information.
