Well, I hired on at a solo driver at covenant. Somehow they put me on the "team list" and when I brought their error to their attention they said "too late, your a team driver". The first driver they put me with was a night mere and fortunately he kept calling in so they sent him home on a grey hound bus. I was alone for 2 weeks and drove over 6000 miles until I picked up my new team driver last tuesday morning. So here we sit, waiting for a load, looking at 4 other Covenant trucks that were also dead-headed here. My pay check last week was 171.00. Parker is a lier as well as his recruiters. 2 more months and I can go to a real company!:biggrin_25526:

As a newbie to the industry and member here, I found this section very helpful for newbies. Thanks to the admins for allowing these types of reviews. This company, Covenant, I was particularly interested in since they put political slogans on the back of their trailers.

I ditto that. I am an atheist too and feel the same way about people and businesses that have to do the whole fish emblem thing or advertise how holy they are. In a business I once owned, these types uniformly ripped me off continuously. I eventually saw the old Jesus fish on the license or lapel as a warning sign to say .... look out, you're about the get ripped off man.

You’re right also about anyone who is hung up on constantly talking about ‘####’ or ‘queers’. You would think by now they would realize that making comments using those words are like a billboard saying ‘I’m not so sure about my sexuality and these guys make me nervous’.

The closest I have come to Covenant, is an old Covenant trailer that the company I work for obviously bought, only identifiable by the contrast in the white where the Covenant decals were removed. Not my favourite trailer to pull either. Spring ride and a pig even empty. (Maybe the trailers that replaced this one at Covenant are better... I sure hope so!).

Yanno, I am with this driver. I was on the phone with them this morning and all he wanted to do was get me to fill out thier form and sign stuff. I have learned in my years that anytime someone is trying to rush you, they are hiding something from you.

I spent 5 months driving for Covenant I have to say they were the worst 5 months of my life. I experienced much of the same things as everyone else. When I left the company because I went broke driving for them I was happy that it was all behind me boy was I wrong. When i applied for another trucking job a few weeks later I found out that Covenant had put untrue things on my DAC report, they claim that I had 2 preventable accidents within 3 weeks of each other. These did not happen I did have what they called an incidence that was not my fault I had pictures and statements from witness stating I was not at fault, when I presented these to safety I was told that they did not care about my evidence that a report was filled against me and I was guilty and that $500.00 would be deducted from my pay. So with that and the fact I was been punished for not running 15 to 18 hrs a day and was not given any miles (3 checks in a row less than $300.00) I left the company. I am fighting to get my DAC cleaned up still. It baffles me how a company that claims to be based on Christian values can screw with peoples lives like they do. I do know one thing for sure that HELL is waiting for David Parker and his family they have seats right in the fire with their names on them. Satin lives at and runs Covenant Transport. Stay far far away from Covenant Transport.

I've been with Covenant for 4 months now. Pay is good, miles are good, I have EZpass, plus. I get reimbursed each week for last weeks things I needed, paper towels, window cleaner/wash etc... I don't take advances, I manage my money quite well and keep about $8 in the loop each week so I'm not really out much money at any one time.
Well no you can't get paid until the Company gets the paper work to pay you and get paid them selves. If you don't do your job properly then I guess you would be unhappy because NO-One will pay you for nothing.
I run my logs the way I always have, mile logging, DOT causes that, not Covenant. This Company is no worse or no better then most of the rest out there. I get home each month as promised.

Get a spine and stop your winning, even a puppy eventually gets over it!

Time fer an update... but first...

    Now for the update...

    (1) Covenant has found another way to delay paying it's drivers. Tripaks are no longer scanned Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you turn in your paperwork after Wednesday, you don't get paid the following week. It goes on the paycheck two weeks down the road. (Personal experience confirming message sent out over QualComm.)
    (2) PAM pays its drivers based on trust (or did when I drove for them). You got paid the following week for trips delivered by 5PM Sunday. Just make sure you Transflo the paperwork soon.
    (3) Turned in logs go "missing". The ONLY things that are issues with Tripaks on a regular basis.
    (4) Heaven forbid that a 4-wheeler should call the company. The gestapo attitude of the safety department automatically assumes guilt on the part of the driver. There is no investigation of the incident with the caller, just a QualComm message instructing the driver on how to do his job.
    (5) Long-time employees long for the "old days" when working for the company was good. Recent changes in leadership are destroying long-time loyalties.
    (6) While I am unqualified to judge Mr. Parker (as some so foolishly have) or his motives, I'm convinced he has become too far removed from the company operations to see the damage being done to what he started.

One final note and the saddest of all.... if it weren't for my knowing that God is faithful and just and true and needs no one to defend Him, i would be inclined to say that He must not exist based on my observations of this company's current operations and treatment of it's drivers.

All companies will have a cut off time. This complaint by itself does not make them a bad company.

how's this for a good reason-
the week before thanksgiving they started a new policy. after your pretrip you are required to send a macroed quallcom mesage. The penalty if you forget is $50.00. It's not fifty for not doing the pretrip and someone else gets stuck driving some p.o.s. trailer that you didn't feel like getting fixed. it's not fifty bucks if the next guy has a problem that you missed. it's $50.00 if you don't send in the macro. They also have a $25.00 dollar bounty IF you have to get it fixed after the last guy forgot the macro. You only get it if your the very next driver after the last guy didn't send in the macro.
I don't care how you want to sugar coat it, that is raping the drivers.

When I drove for Covenant the only people I met that were happy was the people that were brought in from other countries to drive and a few so called trainers which one are you Kind Heart. Covenant needs to be shut down for bringing people that are not Americans to our great country and putting them to work when there are Americans that need jobs. That sounds like an act of treason to me. I spent my 30 day training with a person from Haiti all I heard was I was trash and that he did not have to pay taxes. And also I am not whining I am telling the truth. The day will come when Covenant will break the big one off in you too.
