PM or E-Mail me with the serial number of your 720 along with your name. I will have you call Customer support and they will RMA it for you.

    Thanks,

Before I go sending the whole unit back can I try a different cord/ charger??? The reason I ask is because when i turned it on tonight to see what happened it powered up but almost instantly said low battery and shut off then I turned it back on again and the screen did the wacky messed up thing and I had to push the reset to shut it off.. Ilooked at flying j and they have a charger with the right end on it and it says 5 volt 2 amp.

We need to get this to the engineer's to determine the cause and if any damage internally to the 720 from the DC cord.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Did you send in a registration card? IF not, I would need a copy of your receipt and serial number off the back. I would have to send this up to Rand for verification.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I bought the Rand Mcnally 710...it stopped taking a charge. I replaced it with the RM 720 within 60 days. The other day, the 720 made a weird screeching buzz, the screen had lines thru it...toast, along with the two original power cords from both units. Cheap plastic that broke off in my cig outlet.
I will NOT try a third time. I bought the Garmin dezl 560. The other 2 Garmin units I bought in the past (one for my dad, one for me) lasted far longer with taking more abuse. My dad's is to soon be replaced with another Garmin that includes lifetime maps and traffic, as opposed to the basic unit I got him a few years back.
