30 - 45 days is the norm. It's called pre-Alliance. You get paid as a company driver, but you operate the truck as if you were Alliance. They monitor your mpgs, fuel purchasing, etc. They want to see how well you do as a business owner before they bring you on to Alliance. If you choose, of course.

i never said stevens was a bad company.they are good at what they do which is train. the only reason i came to them in the first place was to get some otr time which has worked for me. i also think that anyone with previous experience will feel hampered and coddled by the company policys. its fine for a new driver to have those as a backup which is what they are there for. i saw it was not for me so i left but my comments were not intended to put the company in a bad light. they have there problems but most companys do. i think that they push the alliance plan way to much. i told them many times i wasnt interested and even though i am no longer working there i still get a phone call asking if im interested in alliance.

In my seminar last night with Katrina Spencer, She said if you are on the emergency plan then yes, they fly you where you need to go. Its cost only $1 a week and cost you only $1 to fly. How it works is all the drivers that on on this plan pay only $1 a week and it all goes into a "bucket" so all the drivers $1 gets put to gether and is handed out to whom is needing to fly or for whatever the emergency is for. Basically is like all Stevens Transport drivers are helping and watching out for each other.

It's called the Driver Assist Fund. I still contribute, even though I'm Alliance.

I know I sound like a stuck record, but once again...please! please! PLEASE!!
Read your map...know your general course...and DON'T BLINDLY FOLLOW THE QUALCOM GPS!!!

Once again, yesterday, I had to route a pair of student drivers back off a dirt county road in the middle of Kansas.
    They 'were lost'.
    NO CRAPOLLA!
"Why did you turn off Hwy 54 onto a dirt road? Didn't you see it was a dirt road?" (it was broad daylight)
"Yessir. I could see before I turned it was dirt."
    "Then why did you turn?"
"Because my qualcom told me to."
"Where did you think you were headed?"
"We were trying to get to Kansas City."
"Didn't you think it was strange that the QC was telling you to turn off of hwy 54, onto a dirt road, if you were looking for Kansas City?"
    "But our qualcom SAID to..."

    And these guys can breed!

Ran into a Grad Student here at the General Mills in Murfreesboro, he went through the training process almost the identical dates as I did only one year later. Thought that was kinda neat, lol.

Load to New Caney but DM says that she can repower me off it for more miles and still get back to the yard for the 10th. Pfft, lets go! hehe...

It is doubly scary that BOTH of them thought the dirt road was a good idea. Just how big do they think KC is? A stop light and a water tower?

I have had to help 'lost' 2 and 3 year drivers because of the QC. It is a pile of crap! Most of the people on the inside know it's lousy, but someone, somewhere conviced ownership to spend more than a million dollars for that feature and NO ONE want's to tell the king he wasted his money.
    the king's new clothes!
