As a company driver the most you can possibly make is. $56,465. Here is the math
8.5hrs of driving a day X 60mph X 365 days a year X .28cpm = $56,465
Again don't rip me one, I am pointing out that this is the mathmatical maximum that some one can get.

Central has now instituted (or reinstated) their pet policy... $500 NONREFUNDABLE ... We are leasing... Liking to make believe it is OUR trunk... Why should we have to pay them to get a pet? GRRR! (That was me... Not a pet... LOL!) Now I can understand a REFUNDABLE deposit, but NONREFUNDABLE??
So question... How many folks have pets, and how many actually paid? -
I'm a little confused with the math. When I multiply it out I get 52,122. If I divide it out to get the appropriate cpm it comes out to a little over 30 cpm. So, things are even a little worse than you laid out.
But, when it comes to the discussion of what can be made in the trucking industry it is a bit myopic to confine that to what can be made by working as a solo company driver at a modest cpm. If one can progress to a full O/O there are a number of possibilities. There are those that report netting close to 100k but of course that is hearsay.
One thing I know for sure, your calculations and goals change radically at that point. It is no longer about working hard as in busting out as many miles as possible. It becomes about working smart as in getting the most money for a load with as little overhead as possible. In other words more money for fewer miles. But, my own modest goals seem quite attainable. I was making 52k a year in my former position, I'd like to recoup that and hopefully do a little better within a few years. -
May want to pick a different industry to recoup that money. I own my Trk and getting that is tough. I also have a payment that is only 2/3 the cost of central. So its not the most ideal industry to expect posts of money. I have had 2 months this year with 3k plus maitnence , and I only have 500k miles. If you figure lower maitnence cost on newer Trk, fine. But figure your also paying $8000 more per year in Trk payments.

Arkansas Frost Thanks this.

In fact, I already know for certain that I can make that kind of money running a straight truck for a courier service. I did close to that already when renting a truck and that was over 10 years ago. -
For those that tend to believe what they hear without corroboration. Look back at the statements of actual drivers and the below picture from Central's recruitment page. Can you make a decent income as a driver, sure. Are you going to be able to make 74K a year starting at 6 months? LOL
