Well another round started... It's starting to get routine, but the miles is 4900-5000/week... That works for us. We really get along with our DM, and getting home weekly (even if the route become boring) is well worth it!!
We are starting to get our HOME back in order from after our kids were 'taking care of it' for us... Makes me wonder at times... But that's another story!!
Central has now instituted (or reinstated) their pet policy... $500 NONREFUNDABLE ... We are leasing... Liking to make believe it is OUR trunk... Why should we have to pay them to get a pet? GRRR! (That was me... Not a pet... LOL!) Now I can understand a REFUNDABLE deposit, but NONREFUNDABLE??

Well we did it... We paid Central $500 to have a pet on 'our' truck... His name is Buddy, and he won't get much bigger than he is now
Also with this new lane we are able to be home for Thanksgiving!! Not sure how things will work out over Christmas, but we will see next month.Last edited: Nov 22, 2012
NoCoCraig, Bumpy and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
Central has always been very fair to us and would always go above and beyond to help us out with whatever we needed. We also had a pet issue when we first started and were able to work that out. This is one of the biggest reasons I recommend Central to the new folks! Yes they have their ups and downs and sometimes it can really get crappy but when it comes down to it if you ever have a problem or need something they really do step up to the plate there!
Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll!!! Drive safe out there. All the cuckoo-nutz are out driving around! -

We had a black and tan when I was a kid, she weighed about 4-5 lbs I believe. Her tail curled at te end though and I think she had a longer, thinner snout. She looked a lot like a Manchester.
Hope you enjoy him, he will most likely love ending up under the covers. They usually ae more protective of one person vs the other, but will protect the other as needed.Lady K Thanks this. -
There's nothing better than being able to take your dog with you on the road! Especially if you are a solo driver. Not only do you get the perks of having a "friend" with you, and of course most of us talk to our pets, but you also have created a good opportunity to get your butt out of the truck more and get some exercise in. No matter what you are forced to get out of that truck and go for a walk at least 4-5 times a day.
Sure its a much more added responsibility but it is well worth it. It can be very challenging finding vets, pet stores etc... Also when driving life gets disrupted and you must get a hotel and or cab, rental car etc... that can also be a bit of a challenge. (especially with a great dane)
No matter how much more added work it was to our daily schedule it was still well worth the trouble. When the dog wasn't with us it definitely felt as if something was missing.NavigatorWife Thanks this.
