hmm.. I don't drink alchohol at all or smoke so maybe thats why I can be fat and still sleep good lol. still waiting for anyone who knows if prime makes you pay for this sleep test if you are put through it. But ya, pretty nervouse about the whole thing I've never even driven a manual car at all deff never a truck although i have been on the road for a few weeks at a time with the dad so i just got to see the lifestyle. Thats one of the reasons I got my cdl perit here in Ohio so I can have some extra time on that simulator!!

Heard a lot of things about prime but great was not one of them, but hope it works out for you.

Really? Reading through the fours and believe me I have throughly. I have ran into many negative views about every single company sponsered cdl program. however few of them also have positive views to go with it as well except Prime. Not to mention the pay. starting at .41 cents a mile driving a lightweight truck seems wonderful and no matter how much ######## I have to endure as long as I can get that cdl then they have given me a skillset to feed my family for life. I'm not expecting roses and a handjob especially my first year, But I expect I may deal with a lot of poo, probably only avergae 2000-25000 a week even though I was told 3200 was their average. I figure I also wont get to make it home every month for four days like I was promised but in the end to me Prime has the most good to go with the bad of going to a company cdl program.

If you have sleep apnea and you do not have to be overweight to have that problem....
Answer Is either Lose weight, Quit smoking, Avoid alcohol, sleeping pills, and sedatives and caffeine and heavy meals within two hours of going to bed. Maintain regular sleep hours
or you can use 3 devices
CPAP
Continuous Positive Airflow Pressure, or CPAP for short, is the most common treatment for moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea. In many cases, you'll experience immediate symptom relief and a huge boost in your mental and physical energy. The CPAP device is a mask-like machine that provides a constant stream of air which keeps your breathing passages open while you sleep. Most CPAP devices are the size of a tissue box.
- Bilevel positive airway pressure (BPAP) devices can be used for those who are unable to adapt to using CPAP, or for central sleep apnea sufferers who need assistance for a weak breathing pattern. This device automatically adjusts the pressure while you're sleeping, providing more pressure when you inhale, less when you exhale. Some BPAP devices will also automatically deliver a breath if it detects you haven't taken one for a certain number of seconds.
- Adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV) can be used for treating central sleep apnea as well as obstructive sleep apnea. The ASV device stores information about your normal breathing pattern and automatically uses airflow pressure to prevent pauses in your breathing while you're asleep.
DocWatson Thanks this. -

If you don't have sleep apnea and are required to take the test, it'll cost you $150. You can't get that test for that price anywhere else. If you do require treatment its somewhat more than $2000 (taken out of your checks in reasonable payments) for the test, machine and follow-up care. Many places charge you $3000 - $4000 just for the test, and you may have to wait months to get into the lab. So a lot of folks may just call this a good deal.NewtruckerDan, awbro and Dinomite Thank this. -
I was diagnosed with sleep apnea in 2000. The difference was nothing short of profound. Now, if I do fall asleep without using my CPAP machine, I can't sleep much over an hour.
My bedside buddy has over 30,000 hours on it. Unfortunately, since it doesn't have the memory card slot, I can't use it on the road. Looks like I'll be getting a new one... about $500 out of pocket. -
dont be skeered of the test
be skeered of having sleep apnea untreated
or any other undiagnosed medical condition -
I am 350lbs and my company didnt say anything when I got hired.
