I had the same problem yesterday around noon myself. I was in Garland and taking I 635 over the 35E. I though maybe because I removed it from the dash and mounted it down on the dash panel. As I traveled farther North toward OKCTY, it began tracking normally. I'm thinking now it may have been a glitch in the satellite system and not with my TND-720.

Cutout a piece of cardboard to make a sunshade. Make it a wrap around design so you can tape it together then just slip it over the unit when needed or slip it off when not.
-
Rand is aware of this.
A different sunshade is being made for the 720.

The government does move the satellites from time to time. You will lose GPS during this time.

This happens is certain area's every few months depending on where and which satelitte is moved back to a higher orbit.
After a few hours the satelitte is now placed in proper orbit and service is resumed, thus you now gain your GPS signal back.
Thanks,
Mark
