On another note, I took a load out of Metal Sales in Sellersburg, In. on Thursday. ( 12000#, 2 stop, paid 1742.00 + ) Anyways I was the only truck there and was there 7 hours. Bad thing is the guy that loaded me said it is almost always like that. First they could not find the paperwork then they were still making the second stop. I should have known something when lost paperwork = "Don't worry we will pay you for your time here".. So on that note if you go there prepare to sit but they will pay you for it..

thanks for info loading alum.mon i'll keep that info in mind

Hello everybody!
How does the Fuel surcharge work?
If you average 2.00 per mile does that include the fuel surcharge?
How exactly does it work?
It costs me roughly about .75 cents PER MILE for fuel.
Does the company pay a portion of that back? -
Fuel surcharge is included in our numbers. Most are not averaging 2 a mile. I think the fleet average is around 1.75 which does not included deadhead.
You can get exact numbers by calling our recruiting dept. and they will give true numbers.
You will see the fuel surcharge on pay statements but not before. We only see the total we are getting paid before we accept the load which does include the fuel surcharge. Kinda like tarp pay is figured in all the numbers. We do get paid good for tarp loads but it is figured in the dollars when the load is offered to us.
This is to keep the numbers simple and straightforward.Allan M Thanks this. -
Can you negotiate the rate with your coordinator or agent?
-
rickybobby Thanks this.
-
I find negotiations with the agent is on the rare side unless it's a crappy load to start with. If it's a good load or getting out of a bad area, they know it'll get covered.
But I think Mercer agents get the best rates from customers to start with. -
Do they email you the rate sheet, once you confirm you want the load? Also on the loadboard, when you decide to book the load do that come in as a email.
