How much unloading you guys do? I'm thinking it's mostly pallet-jacking when required.....

Not that much. Usually it's done with a pallet-puller and chain(s). Sometimes a location will have a pallet jack, but not often. I don't mind as we get paid for the stop and the unload.

I made the drop/hook in Coon Raids,MN last night then went to Cottage Grove. After dropping off the empty trailer I bobtailed to the Pilot in Inver Grove where I currently sit waiting for a call from outbound. I did speak with outbound a few minutes ago and was asured they are trying to put stuff together to get us moving by tomorrow. While it is a bummer to sit all day, I won't complain. Afterall, this the first time I've had to wait this long in Cottage Grove and dispatch was nice enough to let me know they are working to get us moving. I use the term "US" because when I checked in last night I was told there were six other drivers waiting. We'll see.

The BIG DIFFERENCE......wait......wait for it...... wait........NO QCOMM to babysit! I can actually go into the truck stop and goof off, or go for a walk, or to a movie, or shopping. All without worrying about missing a load offer.

48Packard and Frank Acavano Thank this.

Sorry for the absence guys. I arrived at GP on Sunday and turned in 3810 miles for the week. Monday I delivered my SAMs load at Sanger and deadheaded back to the yard for a 34 hr restart. When I was still about 8 miles out from the yard, my phone rang and it was driver compliance on the other end wanting to know when I would be at the yard. I told him about 12 minutes and he said "Good, check in with me when you get here. We are moving you into a 2011 Prostar."
Well, I have spent all day today getting settled into my new truck. She is a 2011 Prostar with a 13 liter MaxForce engine. It has a Dynasys Apu that works like a charm. The truck has 97500 miles on her and she looks practically brand new. I'm a happy camper.
Outbound called me yesterday and gave me a load to Greenfield Indiana that picks up Wednesday morning after my 34 hr break is finished and delivers Friday morning at 8am. I will be deadheading home after I'm empty and staying home till Jan 2. I love the home time I get here. I probably won't be on here much during the holidays, so I will go ahead and wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! God Bless!
