Question. The person processing my application says I need to send them a 2290 form for 2012-2013. What exactly is this? Do I get a blank 2290 form, fill it out and send that over to processing?

So since I am currently leased to CR England do I get a copy from them?

Do I have to prepay for this coming new year (2013)?

I was talking with another CRE driver and he said its pay as you go with England on the 2290. So if I need to give Landstar a 2290 form do I pay for the last week of this month and all of 2013?

The 2290 is paid by August 31 of each year, or the end of the month after you purchased the truck (buy the truck and put it on the road in December, the 2290 must be paid by the end of January). It must be paid to the IRS in full, at that time, they do not take payments. The states cannot issue a license plate without a copy of the stamped copy from the IRS. I haven't a clue what CRE does, you will have to ask them about it. I do know the 2290 must be in the truck owner's name, not the carrier's, if they don't own the truck. You do need a FEIN to file a 2290.
Dewey120 Thanks this.
