I beleive you can have 4' in all the states and 5' in some with a 48' trailer. Also can have front overhang as well as long as it's doesn't exceed 53'

From my experience, you should have no issue with 4' of rear over hang unless you are going to the NE.

Louisiana is a state to be watched for overhang, I had two feet off my 48' and had to order permits.

what i am saying is , this will happen from time to time. but it 2 years it has worked in my favor far more times than not by a large margin.

the second time you handled it just as you should. sometimes lemons pop up, if ya make lemonade out of em, things are fine. but if ya try to suck the juice out of em, you face gets all pinched up and you ga get peed off.

nope, my idea is from pa nj to chicago excellent reload area, pa, nj to ga ,al or ms or pa nj to tx even.

you are looking at a loadboard of one to two days after new years and expecting it to be fantastic. but if i remember the loadboard correct from a couple days ago, better freight out of your area on the 7th no doubt,

but you could also figure which one of those load that was shorter would get you to the best area and check the reload possibilities from there. sometimes when ya live in certain areas you have to take a load to get to a good area, not a dirt cheap load , but a better one.

and when did you start looking at the load board to find one to leave?

i started looking when i got home for chhristmas on the 20th, found one that loaded on the 28th from charleston to kilgore tx paid 1.99 for no tarp 11,200 pounds came home then left on the first , delivered on the 2d, on the 27th i booked my reload to baton rouge at 2.10 a mile for 12,000 pounds 1047 to the truck. and on the 2d i booked a load to deer field beach from gulfport 2.00 on 38,000, and on the 2d i also will commit on the fl to waynesboro, ga load where i was #44 and got the load.

i am not looking to start an argument either, but the facts are there is a way to make the system here work. many many of us do it, and not all are 3 or 4 digit truck numbers, you got to be open to new ideas, and listen to what some are trying to tell you.

one thing i will say, some of you seem to be down in the dumps and your attitudes are in the tank.

i know things are a little tough, but attitude plays a bit part in how things go for a person, if ya think things are going to go bad they usually do.

i try to always keep a positive outlook and things just seem to fall into place. like getting a flat load out of fla that pays good.

positive attitude gets positive results , remember that and cut out the peeing and moaning.

lol yes so true and good advice.

I think I made my first oops and need some advice.
I grabbed a load from OK city to Phoenix. I have been watching Phoenix it seemed OK with getting out but I didnt look this time and as of right now there are zero zilch nothing nada thing for a 403 mile radius.

Since you're allowed to hit a load-board after there are no loads for 24hr while empty. Has anyone done that before? What board is good and who do I call? Local agent?

    EDIT: I have time. I didn't deliver load 1 yet. I p/u Monday with 3 stops deliver 9th or 10th. Just preparing

Not trying to sound discourging but good luck with getting a load set up after you find in on any other board.
But Phoniz is the western board. So you will be working your way up the list while moving around in the western board picking up and deleivery in western area, you do lose your place in line to get out of there. Or just grab a load 600 miles out. You can look at loads as far out as you wish.

My last time out there, I set for 4 days, then took a load out 600 miles over in Waco, tx.
I'm little surprised your coodinator didn't warn you about going out there.

who knows you may get lucky, although for those used to running th east coast and midwest, you will wonder why the heck ya went if ya sit for 3 or 4 days. but its a beautiful ride, lol

be flexible, dont be picky, the rates will be cheap coming out compared to where ya been running. just get what ya can and head back.
