For my company the local trks have only one fuel tank which is 120 gallons of fuel which will get you 3 rounds barely. But my company wants you to fill the trk one time while working then at the end of the day.One guy was only fueling his trk once a day and finally the company woke up and jumped hs ###.It's not only bad for the trk but especially in this weather the fuel could gel and I for one would'nt wanna be parked at the sde of the road broke down and havng to pay for road brk down or even possibly runnng out of fuel.

I have a problem! Im in alexandria mn, was around 0 last night and I didnt idle. In fact, I havent idled at all in a week with similar temps. My bunk heater is awesome. Anyhow, I got up and went to start the truck. NOTHING. Wont crank at all. Voltage is down at 9 volts. Havent had a problem all week, until this morning. Will the cold kill batteries?

It will DEFINITELY kill the batteries.

Best thing to do is to pull the batteries (take a picture of the connections)

Bring them inside and LET THEM THAW COMPLETELY.

When a battery discharges, the acid turns to water and WILL FREEZE. Your battery will likely look bulged. Put them on a plastic tray for like boots or something. If they are frozen and a case is cracked they will leak out into that. It will have to be replaced.

You cannot charge a frozen battery.

Once they are thawed completely, then you can put a charger on them and hopefully bring them back.

$158.02 for a jump start in the same parking lot as the shop. Yay.

windsmith, you took the words out of my mouth

i have never ever used anti-gel stuff, and i rarely idle all night. the other night, it was 16 in KC, i stopped at midnight with a nice warm truck, woke up at 5am (warm under the blanket, but it was freezing in the truck) turned on the truck, it coughed for about 10 seconds and started right up

Anything below 20°F, you want to keep it at idle.
