15 degrees or lower, you need to add anti-gel treatment and idle. I've seen way too many trucks froze over cuz they didn't take care of their fuel.
If your fuel gels, you will likely have to wait til the temps warm up enough to ungel. Depending on how cold it is, it could take days.
So the way I see it, don't take any chances.

good morning guys and gals...can anyone give me an overview of the experienced drivers orientation with SNI? thats what my prospective recruiter told me i would go into should i decide to come back to schnieder. only thing is, ive never done otr work before, just home daily dedicated runs. ive gotten lazy with my pretrip (for schneider standards anyways lol) and i think ive only slid the tandems twice in seven yrs! (i ran flatbeds for the past six) but i guess they consider me experienced lol....any help out there? thanks

thanks brooklyn....did they give you the prework screen as well? step test, lifting of weights etc? i hope this 2.5 orientation is all ill need. i know how to drive, granted, ive only been in daycabs for the past six yrs so a conventional sleeper may take a very very short bit to get used to again. Also, did they skirt over trip planning any? as stated before ive never had to do it in the seven yrs ive been driving as ive been lucky to have had home daily positions...(leave a 3 am and be done by 3-4 pm or so) thanks

Matt, when on your check ride, don't hesitate to use as much road/room as you need to make your turns and so forth. When making the left-hand turn onto a 4-lane road, ensure you make your turn into the left-hand lane you're turning into, then change over to the r/h lane after the turn. Again, though, don't hesitate to take as much room/road as you need - and WATCH YOUR TANDEMS, i.e., don't hit any poles, STOP signs, curbs, and so on. Piece of cake.

that dang step test is what bothers me....i know its only 1 minute up and down etc...but right at the one minute mark my knee always irritates me. i can barely do the 1 minute. maybe ill slow my pace a bit when they have me do it...but not tooo slow....
