Thx for the response. 1-1200 each will work. And think we will just stick with our cat.

company policy saids CAT's must be de-claw (front paws).... a friend had a cat and found some kind of rubber claw cover and usx said it was ok.... but check to be sure.... also you will need to pay a $500 non refundable pet depsoit, they will take it out at $50 a week, plus a weekly fee so you can idle (because you have a pet) you'll also need you vet records..

you should have seen the sheet hit the fan when they tried to make me do it when i put our cat on OUR TRUCK we'er o/o's.... they kept saying i had to de-claw my cat and i had to pay the deposit.....? i told her 3X I'M A O/O i don't have too... then told her get me your boss... i don't think she likes me now

even o/o's must do the paper work to have a pet (max 2) on the truck and i understand that but dam grow a brain i'm a o/o so some things you can't tell me

we are a team and we were company drivers with usx for 7 years and happy... our avg take home (with breakdown, hometime and the like) was $1,100 each the last year.. and that was after the pay cuts we took, craig & his wife were making .04cpm. more when he started they we were but we had a dedicated run and it paid less.

now we are o/o and we leased our truck on to usx and are very happy but again we run a dedicated account and it pays way better than most o/o working for usx get...

all companies have good and bad points, what it comes down to is can you live with the bad part. what i think is bad you may not and what i love you may hate. you may go to shippers that you love going to and i WILL NOT go to them (remember we o/o's so i can say NO) you may like the NE i woun't go, you may like CA i can't go.(our trucks is to old it's a 06)

    things to think about
how fast is the truck (usx is 65)
can you have a invertor and if so how big (usx must install YOUR invertor up to 1750w)
can you idle for heat/AC (usx is below 28 i think and above 70)
can you have a pet (usx yes but only 1) i've seen driver's fired for having 2 in the truck but remember that having a pet on the truck may not let you go to some shippers..
can you have a rider (usx yes) seen drivers fired for not doing the paper work..
can you mount things in or on the truck (usx yes as long as you don't drill holes but check with the shop first) we had a fridge, mirco, flat screen, sat dish....

they say 98 percent drop and hook and that sounds about right but i can't say for sure the last 2 years we were company drivers we had a dedicated fedex so that was 100 percent and now that we are o/o for the last 2 years what we do is about 30-50 percent.....

craig would know better, his company driver info is more up to date than mine...

So I will chime in. What they say today is 70% drop and hook and 98% no touch. I think that is about right on. Way higher live load % if you are on the refer board but nice long runs (teams only)

Well after a brutal week of short solo runs and a grand total of 2300 miles last week we are finally back in the groove and the customer is ramping up again. Dropped in Laredo last night and our next load was sitting there waiting for us. So we are halfway back to Wayne MI. Getting VERY tired of the dang rain.
