NEWSFLASH... The trucks that have the Ambient Sensor will NOT idle at any temp under 20. Just found out that GB has been flooded with calls concerning this and they have admitted that the trucks WILL NOT idle and they are working on it. Sounds like BS to me and I think they knew this all along but choose to blow smoke up our ##*es to keep us calm. Woke up to 9 degrees the other morning and not one SNI truck would idle. I figure they will find a solution come spring and then say its too late to worry about it. I bet the trucks won't idel over 70 either.

 

What do Workflow, Ambient Temp Sensors, and a host of other "innovations" adopted by SNI have in common?

The drivers are the test subjects for these wonderful, life-enhancing additions.

And to see a message from GB bragging about making over $11 million in profit last year? ALL at the expense of us drivers out here putting up with their BS. Hopefully the local job I applied for calls me before the end of the month.

 

I don't care if they made $11 BILLION in profit, I really don't. More power to 'em.

But to continually be so short-sighted at the expense of drivers just gets ###### old.

 

Are the planners, DMs, managers, etc. freezing or sweating at home and in their offices too, or is it only the hard working truckers doing the sacrificing so the aforementioned can make a little more money to pay for their cooling and heating bills.

 

Are you kidding me? That would caus them great discomfort in doing their job properly.

 

Drivers seem like they are just a dime a dozen these days. A company will put the pressure on you to see if you'll fold. If you don't, more pay and a better truck will be awarded. Schneider makes its money off newbies as does many other starter companies. They get a government tax write-off for every new hire.

I agree whole heartily. It's sad it has come to that. Three years ago I found a 60 truck company and quite frankly they are nothing without the 20 or so drivers who work hard here. The other 30 or 40 drivers are here today and gone tomorrow but a few of us know a good thing when we see it. There's lot's of companies out here like this, you just have to find them on your own. So it's not all doom and gloom however it would be nicer if some of these bottom feeders would quit lowering the standards.

The people that cheer lead for these junk carriers are short sighted because of the 3 or 4 weeks of paid vacation per year and other perks they have earned. I also hear a lot of "it all depends on your driver manager" Why would anyone work for a company that doesn't place the drivers success solely in the hands of the driver?
