You bet. You go to a designated hazprints location and they take all of your prints then you wait to get your approval from TSA. You can register online for 89.00 then once done registering you go in and get your prints taken. Once you are approved by TSA, they send that to your local DMV and you go in and have that endorsement added to your license. That is if you have already taken your states hazmat endorsement test.

Jumpman23 I just got my cdl permit and when i was at the cdl office I had the same question. I was told by the cdl office in Arizona YES. you can have endorsments added at anytime as long as your cdl stays valid. I would check with your states office but would not think it would be any different for the reason some drivers go years driving only a specific haul such as dry van and switch to companies that require endorsments and have to get them added.

I definitely agree with you never can hurt to have them for just in case reasons, and definitely for better jobs you cant go wrong there. I just got my cdl permit last week and took my tanker test and pass and wished i studied the other sections more to have them added now other then later but got rushed to get my permit. But i would definitely get them added if i was you for better employment.

They aren't hard to get and are well worth having them on your license in case you ever need them. I know most carriers pay extra when hauling hazmat which would be a benefit.
