another reason not mentioned for moving the intake is that the compressors are only rated for so much boost pressure. once you go over that you can damage or shorten the life of your compressor , push oil into your air system , etc.. that info is from Bendix. have run a 3406 and a series 60 and have had no problems on either. external air cleaner on the compressor as well as plumbing a line to the air cleaner. both worked just fine.

He stated purchased at Carquest. Not the cheapest but good customer service and you can go to about any of the others and they can cross reference to their part numbers. Like ORiley's and AutoZone

What does the reed valve do? Is it necessary to (use or change) it when putting on the air filter for the compressor? Thanks
