I didn't think the loads of Peas I'm paying were cheap loads and I have them on a few boards and no takers and I just thought were can I get more exposure to hopper guys looking for loads? I have several loads of Peas out of a elevator going 65 miles one way to a rail car paying .31/bu most tandems are averaging 900/bu and triples are averaging 1100/bu... I thought someone would love to haul them back and forth for something to do and make some money but I guess nobody wants to work or it's too cold to start the truck?? What does it take to get hopper guys to fire up the truck?

How long is the waiting time to get loaded and unloaded? How many loads are guys able to make in a day? How soon do you pay after the work is already completed? $0.31 per bushel isn't bad as long as everything works out perfectly and a guy can run a few loads a day.

No wait time really elevator opens at 8am to 3pm but they said they would stay around for the truck run 65 miles one way and dump into a pit and drive back. I don't see why a guy wouldn't want to spend a few days hauling some back to back, beats waiting for rates to go up and things to haul. I have them in the Devils Lake, ND area and Williston, ND area. Everyone I have called all say Thanks for calling but been laying around staying in where its warm since Thanksgiving and don't even know if the truck will start, things are really slow... REALLY and you don't want to go turn the key and see if she will fire and make some money?? Come on that is easy money, I'm sorry but better than what everything else is paying.

Any Ideas where guys with Hoppers look for loads? Normally I never have this problem but sure do now and the rate is where I usually have guys wanting to haul it like it's Deleted

Any ideas? Thanks in advance and I know the area is cold but hoppers are usually around and ready to work but I'm not finding them

I would like to get two trucks to haul them that way they could run together and have a good ol time back and forth. I was hoping one guy would say I will do it and I know others who would too but everyone doesn't seem like they could care to make any money

How many of these loads do you have running each day? For the North Dakota area and in the middle of winter I would think the rates would be higher.

I really don't know why they don't want to haul them...there's usually a reason the local guys don't want to haul it... it's usually not because they're lazy. It doesn't help to come on here and insult the hopper guys.

as many as a guy can haul between 8am and 3pm I can't tell you how many a day yet but I would think if he is there when they open you could get a good day in they said they would stay until 5pm to load if a truck was coming back and would even load at 7am. As soon as I get someone to start hauling them I will be able to answer your question better as you may already have a idea how many you can do in a day in that area? Hardly any traffic elevators are slow and no trucks in or out of them really right now 65 miles one way 15 minutes to load and scale on each end. I have 4 rail cars to fill ASAP to ship to Canada and as soon as they get more cars in I will have more. I really don't want to put several trucks on them unless I have to meet a deadline to have them filled but thought it would be nice for a couple trucks to stay busy for several days instead of firing up the truck for a day or two or a couple loads as I can see that wouldn't be worth the time.

We all know it's slow and rates have been terrible but I didn't think this was such as bad deal, I could see it if everyone was busy and having this problem but there is not one guy I talked to that said he was busy for a couple days or anything they all said they have not started the old girl since before the holidays as there is nothing worth hauling and than when I tell them what I have they say well yeah sure that sounds like a good deal to someone but exclude themselves. I knew things were tough and bad out there but even when there is something good they still pass. Sad, Sad seeing this industry going to poo

Has anyone ever tried Dry Bulk Loads Now site before? I guess if a guy was really wanting to look for some loads for a hopper where would you go if you were to look at a load board as I know most of you don't go that route as you have your go to guys that give you loads when they have them and the rates are not like they are but not all of you have those contacts as that takes time to establish those contacts

UTI,I'm not gona speak for other folks here,Wheathauler has forgotten more about hoppers than i will ever learn, but i can just bet he nailed it when it comes to you so if you want a professional response,i'd encourage you to act like one. Spouting out quotes like ''Normally i never have this problem but i sure do now and the rate is where i usually have guys wanting to haul it like its ______'' won't get you any farther than a 'phone click' with me,pard.

I have used Dry Bulk Loads websight alot but I mainly use the contacts that I have made. I stick to the surrounding states of Indiana though, so all I can say is if you offer these loads for a decent pay then I am sure guys would haul them as long as they turn good money. Good luck.
