If you are looking to work at gstc, i'd think twice. I worked there for a long time, first few years i was there they were a good, honest, fair company, not the greatest equipment, but was good enough, great miles and hometime....until the company got handed off to the kids. The son in law runs everything there now, and since he took over, its gone completely down hill. He replaced all the good people in the office(except for a couple of them, but the negative atmosphere of the office got to them too) with total incompetents, the good freight they had to haul out of the warehouse is farmed out to broker trucks and pos foreign driver outfits, and the equipment has gone to junk trailers and micromanaged tiny-sleeper volvos. The dispatchers there used to have respect toward the drivers, cussing and screaming at drivers was NOT allowed, and any dispatcher who did, was gotten rid of. Now they will scream and cuss at drivers, (i was there more than a few times in that office and overheard pleny of it). You will deliver mostly in the, morning with at least 8-9 hours or more left of you 11 hrs and will sit most of the day waiting for a load. The new planners they have working there are worthless. As for the shop, all but 1 or 2 of the good mechanics have been replaced by idiots (including the son in law's kid who is a worthless little punk) who couldn't figure out how to fix a unicycle on a good day. I left there in late may, and started with my current company, and when i looked at my w2's for both, it was $14,000 over the last six months i worked there...vs. almost twice that for the first six months i have worked at my current company. So there's the math. If you want to make money, forget about GSTC, unless you like to sit for 12 hours or more between loads every delivery. Just sayin'.
