Are there any national moving companies that hire new drivers? It seems all the companies go through agents. How do I find these agents? Any help would be appreciated.

Moving companies require experience? That's a new one on me. I considered taking a moving company job for a while. As far as I could see, the only requirements were a valid CDL and a bottle of clean piss, not necessarily your own....probably because moving companies have an even more ridiculous turnover rate than freight outfits...

You can start by looking in your home town for an agent, Most co's have agents close by and definitly in major metro areas, you would have to do some local work to get a understanding of whats required and how to load for the road, If you can find a special products agent, you may get on the road faster as there is less for you to know than household. And yes I drive for United Van Lines and trust me you need your own test samples.

Yes, household goods companies hire new drivers when the need them. Try the companies and their agents. Here is a partial list:

    Corrigan Movers
    NAVL
    Bekins - bekinsA1jobs
    United Van Lines
    Wheaton World Wide
    Allied Van Lines
    Mayflower Transit
    Atlas Van Lines
    Graebel Van Lines
    Global Van Lines

Lately, Corrigan has been hiring a lot of drivers right out of CDL school.
