I agree with your statement 100 % I'm happy with the people I work with (okay maybe not all of them but..) I never told anyone they would be unhappy anywhere else. I have never suggested that anyone is making a huge mistake by leaving. Everyone has their reason and usually it is to be home with family more. How could anyone ever tell a guy not to pursue a job/work that is closer to his/her ideal work situation, to be home or what ever the case maybe? I SURE WOULDN'T

I never said you had to be "CR,CRST,SWIFT" to survive. My comment was simply stating that MANY of the problems people have are not COMPANY problems perse rather INDUSTRY problems. MAY TRUCKING is not the only company in my career! I have had the experience of seeing this trucking FTL industry longer then my 15 years driving in it!

Your happy where your at and that is great. I have no problem with that. I NEVER SAID MAY is BETTER then anyone, Just different. They work for me but one thing is for certain. All things come to a end at some point!

you MUST suffer from some sort of personality disorder
please, dont edit your last 2 posts in this section, for they totally contradict each other. in one you are saying these other 2 companies are jokes, and then in the next you say "How could anyone ever tell a guy not to pursue a job/work that is closer to his/her ideal work situation, to be home or what ever the case maybe? I SURE WOULDN'T " lol
May works for you, fine, great, have at it, trust me no ones gonna take your job. if its an industry standard to run a truck until its out of DEF and FUEL, and then blame the driver and charge them for it when theres at least 3 messages asking for a fuel stop then I must be missing all the trucks on the side of the road during my driving cause i just dont see them.

everyone has different needs, and each company fulfills certain requirements, each situation doesn't fit everyone the same. the real problem here is that YOU are in a situation within may that is not an option for most, if not all, of the other company drivers. YOU have been in that position for how long? how many DM's have you had in the past year? Just because you are in the good graces at may doesn't mean everyone else is, and once someone expresses discontent with may then here you come calling it 'industry standard'

I have been reading all the things you have posted Steve. When I first saw you come on this board, I thought "Oh, nice. Trucker Steve is here!" When I first started in this industry I watched all of your videos along with Eskimo Sean I believe. You two were very instrumental with your videos to show new guys what it was like out here. You gave tips and tricks to guys and were a very helpful person. Your blindside backing video you had where you backed in at a storage facility was impressive to me at the time, and still is today.

I honestly don't care what company people work for. Its up to the individual to decide for themselves what works for them and how much they can put up with before saying enough is enough. You like May. You obviously are in a good situation there. You have made good friends with a lot of the office staff and May drivers. I'm not saying that you get preferrential treatment. Nobody here knows what its like for you at May except you. What I don't get lately is why you have resorted to attacks on others. You never used to do that. You always just shrugged it off.

I work with Furniture Row now. A big reason I came over here, was my DM at the time I came back to May last year had just left and made her way over here. At the time, I thought I wanted to train again. So I came back to May. I convinced myself that I should return. When I returned after experiencing some freedoms at another company (routing myself, fueling myself and being less micromanaged) I soon realized that May was just not for me any longer. I then made the move over to Furniture Row Express. The two companies are miles apart when it comes to driver freedom. That is what is important to me. To have the ability to think for myself and not a computer do it for me. To know that if I need repairs, I am the one responsible for getting them done. Not some desk jockey in breakdown that I have to wait hours on to get approval to get things done. Are things at Furniture Row perfect? No. Are there times I get down on the company? Yes. Are they the best company to work for? Probably not, but they fit my needs at this point in my career. I look forward to working here and watching the company grow into what it has the potential to be. Perhaps I am just naive with my hopes over here. Just as I was when I first started with May.

Long long ago, I was smoked for saying there a piece of crap company, Well they still are. They could care less about there drivers, just about the owners money. Get out while your still alive. And yes I did work there. They pay terrible, enough said.

Joker .. Not really. I would say they are ok .. And once the new MPG program hits .. A 5 year vetern can be knocked down to .30cpm for not getting the MPG the company wants .. Thats just not right.
