I applied for linehaul at 309. Hopefully I get this and join the team!

Thanks! I hear it's the largest terminal. That sounds food to me. How long does the whole hiring process take?

309 is the second largest from what i heard... i believe the one in Tracy, CA is bigger, Skinny would know better. I remember having my interview a few days after superbowl. on a wednesday. Then the following week they called me to come for a drug test. The last week of the month they called me on a Monday and told me to start wednesday. That was for P/D though. Im done with P/D now hence why when im transfering to do line-haul, at least im still close. JUst heard they are going into Canada as well now!

I thought only Reimer did the cross border hauling? Anyway, I remember 1 time, on my way back from Buffulo NY, I wasn't paying attention & my GPS sent me to 309 via Canada (I guess it's quicker), but, I didn't want to go through Canada so they let me turn back around. I guess it's happened many times because they asked if my GPS sent me that way.

Skinny Trucker was the one who told me 309 is "now" the largest terminal, as though this happened recently. whatever the case, if I can get a lot of miles there I'm happy.

O ok im maybe it changed then recently... I know skinny is making killer miles, ive gotten to know him off of here and we chat quite often. HE gave me a good litte pep talk about switching to linehaul. Im even more pumped now. Although at 309 you will be running teams. Im think only a handful of terminals run teams. 123 doesnt, if they did my buddy and I were gonna do it. But at the same time i wouldnt wanna ruin a friendship as well. Going to be interesting pulling doubles again, havent in almost 2 years. i live 20 miles away from 150, and its about 40+ to 123, but like skinny said thats not too bad, and if i get to stay out a few days i can save money and the miles on my truck (just hit 70K). Hoping to get a few more years out of it before i buy a new one. Waiting for Dodge to fix the emission stuff with the diesels which they are currently trying to do so.( i got the Hemi).

Im on a loayoff from 150 still (very small terminal 35 doors, only about 20 drivers, 9 which are straight trucks( WAY TO MANY FOR THE AMOUNT OF HEAVY STUFF WE GET). I spoke to the old steward when i wanted to originally transfer to 123 and he said go for it, he transferred down south after the COO and is running orlando to charolette and LOVES it. So now the new steward was aware, and since they arent bringing any one else back from layoff, he said do you still want to go up there. He said I could go Part-time and then come back, or full time which ever i want to do. I am chosing full-time because I know once i get a taste of some better money and easier work I wont go back to P/D. Typing up my letter tonight for the transfer, it will be hard to leave my friends at 150 but at least i have a few from 123 that i know

@Cool35 hopefully we get you back on soon too. Also i got my letter from the steam fitters, i met all the qualifications but will not be in the current class, and am on the list for the future class. Guess the whole transfwer was a good idea then

309 is supposedly the biggest terminal in the country. Tracy, CA is still a large terminal in size but is now considered a satellite terminal. When we left Phoenix they told us to stop by Albuquerque terminal to switch trucks. Switched out with no problem and on our way to 309.

A satellite terminal is a small terminal. 150 is a satellite. Places like Chicago, Atlanta, and Dallas are called break bulks. Most freight goes from a satellite terminal to a break bulk and then redistributed to its delivery location. Does that makes sense? I think I just confused myself. Lol
