Hey double yellow! ...Ron and I WERE Jovial about "learning" the reefer thing.
This year was solely about education. As Ron was not thrilled with
more work, more personal risk and fluctuating pay
    via disc
    :tard:mb:tard:bulated settlement sheets.
This change was needed for our personal peace of mind.

    Ron and I sure d
o hope your new environment is working for you.
It is tough making this type of LIFE change, but knowing your history,
    we
know you are consistent and know you are progressively moving forward .
    And with this...
I have long been meaning to close out this thr
    ead.
From day one, we wanted to share our experiences as we grew from
last August 2011 while in CDL training....through our very tough bootcamp year.
We hope that we have given others encouragement and
at least some tips through OUR school of hard knocks!
    It has been a livel
y adventure BOTH good and bad.
THE GOOD: We recently met another lovely couple, who recognized us as transportHER from our blog.
They shared their personal experience of a strong desire to become OTR drivers.
It touched my heart that our blog had a major impact on their decision to pursue their dream of making this BIG life change of becoming an Over the Road husband/wife TEAM.
What a wonderful way to conclude our blog!

    This
is the impact we were hoping for.
    Until our next thread....

I never had issue, but still had to LOL at the black font:biggrin_2559: I wish you both luck.

ND oilfield work didn't pan out for me (was expected to work 20 hour days, 6 days a week while driving 10,000-25,000lb overweight in equipment so shoddy 1 in 4 brake pots were caged -- all while dealing with habitually delinquent payroll). Currently looking for a company with decent pay/miles for western solo, but confident I'll find a good home. Hope to catch up with you two somewhere down the road

It is a surprise to see TransportHer here giving a farewell after sooooooo long... :biggrin_2556: Yes, it was a nice thread and I wish them all the best....
But I am still intrigued about that short, cold and rude email I received from them asking me not to bother contacting again... Specially because I never tried to contact them but was always helpful and kind everytime they asked me anything...

Wow. How odd. Wonder what could have happened. Everything seemed to be going so well, and we've actually quit our jobs to go have such an experience ourselves. We start CDL school tomorrow and are seriously looking at Covenant. I hope you will post again if you hear anything. You've been very helpful Rocks and we've appriciated it ourselves.

    Rocks Thanks this.

Whats this all about ? My wife & I were looking at this company till we saw this. Covenant seems controlling.

TruckDuo, I post on here from time to time as well. We've been with Covenant almost 3 years. The changes we've seen have been mostly positive. The company is doing well and our miles have a lot better than typical winter miles. Make up your own mind. Don't use forum posts to make your decision if we had done that we wouldn't have come here! Good luck

It would be my personal recommendation to start somewhere else if you possibly can.
If you do choose to start at Covenant, be sure you get copies of everything you sign.
And save all email correspondence. Dropbox is an excellent online space to save your settlement sheets. Write everything down associated with each trip assignment. You will need to stay on top of expense reimbursements. And VERY important!... be sure to have a decent savings to fall back on for when you sit!

    nightrider57 and TruckDuo Thank this.
