Maybe for you. But new hires have to have EOBR. Been stated many of times. And obviously you have to carry workmans comp. So how is it not different
-
So lets see. You state that it is no different. i say Prove it. I mean not trying to sound like a mean person but, you put it out there. You show me where spending the money per year for an EOBR and workmans comp is no different from my costs. I am pretty sure. matter of fact I am 150% sure I am gonna show you up on those 2 items alone. wanna play?

Big Jay Thanks this.

Crazy D how long have you been an o/o and how long your authority. The only thing our eobrs do is make you run legal. He must have been one of the ones landstar rejected. He reapplied and they said no twice.
-
You're right workman's comp is not required by law (in fact I don't believe it's even legal to obtain without having at least one employee) but the equavalent to is with LS. Personally, I believe you get what you pay for with insurance. Cheap insurance is easy to find, but always comes at a price. -

So, no, occupational insurance isn't for everyone, but for me personally, I would have it whether Landstar required it or not.Container Hauler and Autocar Thank this. -
leasing or own authority is just matter of preference really but contrary to what a lot of people say on here its not expensive or hard to run your own authority.
