I just dropped a load that was set on -10. It was probably the loudest refer i've ever pulled. When it would start up it would rock my truck and was loud. Occasionally in my sleep i'd feel the truck rock but didn't bother me and I at least knew it was running.

I agree with you, i would not complain, if i could not move to another spot i would stay there, but i would not cry about it. There is more to be worried about like what you said in your last sentence.

Shoot, after a few minutes of dieseling the trucks on each side, they'll sleep real well...

It won't much effort on my part to turn off your reefer :biggrin_25522:

Mid-morning today, at the Love's in Rolla, MO. I pulled in to get my windows clean...still getting a lot of brine run-down from my last trip north. Also wanted to grab some breakfast.

In front of me....USX. Finally, after some minutes of waiting on my part, out come the team drivers, each with a sack o' grub and a drink. They get into the truck, wait another few minutes, then...........pull over next to the CAT scale to eat. This in a truckstop that was 2/3 empty.

I've pretty much given up banging my head against the wall. I see the future.

    And it sucks.

Sounds better during the day. Go there after 11pm at night and there won't be a single person pulled forward and all of the pumps filled. Truck stops with a McD's are always horrible.

Well, this thread has turned into something completely different than what it started out.
A man asked for others to be considerate , to flat bedders , when you're parking your reefer next to him.
Since then its gone all over the board .
There were some nice posts on here , explaining .
There were also a lot of Nasty posts. Those posters took his request completely out of context . No doubt , many of them didn't really read what he said , only " saw " what they Think he said . The rest were just plain Nasty people.
As an example , ever go into a , for Example , McDonald's , at a T.S. , and order a breakfast combo ? And , when the counter person asked what to drink , you say " Milk " . And they say Coke ? How are those two words similar ? Try it sometime.
we are cramped up in the truck stops . We want to rest . We would like a good nights sleep. We've worked our butts off . Sometimes , there's not many spots available. Sometimes there's only one.
The Gentleman who started this post understands that. He's not asking for the Reefer drivers not to park next to him.
He's Just asking , that , when there are other spaces available , and plenty of them ,why can't you park away from the flat bedders , if your unit is running ?
Or , if you feel the need to run your engine all night , when its neither too hot , or too cold ,and you don't Need it running , you're more or less just doing so Because You Can ?
And , yea , I know some will take this out of context , too. Be Kind.

Im working until I get out of the cab. I deal with noise, as a part of my job. The person in the next truck makes their living as I do. There living is different than mine. They haul cold freight. I haul flatbed. My Kohler starts up in my side box. Same as a reefer. Were all working, get over it, or get an office job.
