So I got a stacked preplan while I was in Fontana. The first load was for 13 miles and the second for 1000. I delivered the first one and picked up the second one. This morning I checked to see what the 13 mile run paid. I made $3.38 for 2.5 hours of work. It just does not seem worth it. I sent an email to my DL asking what the deal was. He said the planner was supposed to come to an agreement with me as to what I would accept to do that load. Nothing was ever said to me about it. He's going to put me in for hourly pay for it.
Does anyone know the Swift ranking system. I think they are all messed up on mine. I know they start you out at Bronze. Last week I noticed my rank changed to Silver and this week it is Gold. So far I've been unable to find anything that tells me exactly what it means. I've seen the requirements for each rank and I don't come close on miles.
Spending the night in a TS in Idaho. No delivery until tomorrow mid morning.
That's it for now.Bigdubber and UncleMeano Thank this. -
Well, I envy you! I'm at 94,xxx miles and still at bronze. 99.73% on time and no accidents. Every time I talk to my DM, he wants more miles to rank me up. First it was 33k miles, then 66k miles... Now he wants 99k to rank me up... I have no clue about ranks either.

The time to negotiate is before accepting that BULL$h!t load not after you have no negotiating power. I am beginning to see a pattern were you are easily walked over by dispatch and they know it. may be to late to turn that perception around now. I think you may be used to a military style of thinking in the sense of you must do what is ordered. in the Private sector it is sometimes OK to say no and expected at certain times.
PS. Thank you for the posts. my cry-tic is only meant to be helpful not hurtful. after reading your Posts I have joined you on our OTR journey and feel they treating me like garbage as well as you. most of us following your posts are in your co seat.Sheriff1/6, Bigdubber and UncleMeano Thank this. -
I probably would have takin that one as well, I must admit. Wasting 3 hours to secure $300 is better than betting a full day on something better that may not come along... Especially in SoCal. Just my opinion.Sheriff1/6, Bigdubber and UncleMeano Thank this. -
I hope the Sheriff is feelin' good about himself. I, for one, think the man is operating on personally inspired values. When it's all over and done with.......who really wins? Elvis may have got a lot of it but I bet he would rather be the Sheriff right now.

Two fellers was a standin' on a bridge, makin' a P.
One feller says "water's cold"
other'n say'd "it's deep too"..
Get it??
I b'lieve one of 'em was from Arkansas.

Secorp, no worries about the critique. I do tend to put up with a bunch of stuff before I finally say no. The problem is that when I'm done I'm really done. I'm giving this a chance no matter what.Bigdubber Thanks this. -
So tonight I'm home. I delivered my load in Ririe, ID this morning, drove back to Ogden and now I'm in Boise. I don't deliver in Seattle until the 8th. I decided to spend some time at home with my honey.
I saw something today that really made me ill. While pickup up my load in Ogden I had another Swift driver pull out in front of me to get ahead of me at the exit gate. No biggie really as he must have been much more important then I am. When he gets out of his truck I couldn't believe it. His shirt was half buttoned and his belly was exposed, bouncing as he walked. His boots were untied and the laces were slapping the ground. I couldn't have crawled as slowly as he walked. To top it off he was picking up and empty trailer and when he pulled out he parked next to the curb and sat there. Perhaps there was an urgent PBJ waiting in his cooler.
When they replaced my windshield the put my prepass receiver near the top of the window. Very seldom do I get a green light now. Mostly I get no signal at all. Has anyone else had an issue like this? I'm wondering if I should move it back to the bottom.
Thank you to everyone for your encouragement. I know there are times when it seems like I've just about had it, but really I'm good and I'll keep pushing on. I have a plan.Bigdubber Thanks this.
